Who is the duvalfootballfans admin?  And did it start due to the issues here or did this person always want to start a competitor?

The first post on the site is from JagMasterFlash who's the admin. He said he has an account here but said he didn't post much and was a little coy about the user ID he uses here. Anyway, this is from his first post.

If you're reading this, congratulations, you made it! I encourage you to register. Although we're pretty lonely here so far, I thought I'd post a message to answer the question of "why another Jags message forum?"

There are many places to discuss sports these days, specifically Jaguars football which we all are (I assume) mostly interested in. I'm a participant in duvalpride.com, twitter (x), reddit, and the Jags Facebook group as well as a couple of the media sites. I've always been most a fan of the message forum style of communicating though and so I was happy when Duval Pride came on line after the original Jaguars message board got dropped by the team. It's a good community and a good message board but they've been experiencing a few performance and availability issues the last few months. So when it last went offline, there were rumors that it was down for good and I decided to create this site as an alternative.

Fortunately, it looks like DuvalPride has returned to service which probably renders this forum redundant, however since I already put it together, I plan to keep it up as an alternative for the time being. I've decided that if it does get some traffic with likeminded Jags fans, I'll keep it going and try to improve and maintain it. At worst, it's an alternative message forum if Duval Pride is experiencing issues or if the web site eventually does go offline for good.

If you've registered, I thank you. Feel free to post a message and spread the word about the new forum. If I get enough traffic, I'll put it in a dedicated domain and continue to maintain and improve things.

Honestly, if this one was running a little more reliably, I still think the new one looks better. A bit more of a modern touch. This one looks like it hasn't been updated since 2017 based on the copyright in the footer (at least for the responsive throwback 2.1 theme) and the mobile version of the site isn't even really close. At least the new board won't have moderators that break rules without consequence.  I swear, this MB is so toxic because certain posters have immunity to antogonize anyone they want while not having the same accountability.

Certain mods here drove off posters that they disagreed with by banning, or insulting them.  And insulting posters is a bannable offense.  But not for certain mods...  They bullied this message board.  

I really like this MB, but if this MB dies, I'm not gonna be sad about it.  Especially since that means that certain moderators are no longer able to bully the rest of the fans that want to discuss Jaguars football.

I actually like it. It’s slick and modern. One beef I’ve always had with this one is the appearance. The great thing was the functionality and the posters. Well the functionality is not there and the posters have migrated too. With all that said I probably wouldn’t be looking elsewhere if this one was reliable. Reddit is just not a viable alternative to me.

Good luck over there.  Without proper moderator oversight, you'll have posters spamming agenda driven drivel and certain disagreements escalating at times to personal attacks.  It will work against fostering genuine discussion to some degree.  Whatever complaints you have over here, the value added by the mod team far outweighs whatever negatives you perceive there are.

I didn't get the sense that it wouldn't have mods. In fact, he's mentioned mods explicitly a couple of times. I asked him to stop in here (when the forum's up) to say something about that. It's new though so I'm sure it's all about trying to get things established and running on the right track.
