It worked for the rams because those picks were in exchange for established All Pro players. I do think this will work out in the end, but this is not similar to what the rams have done. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
OL out of West Virginia and a Nickel CB with pick 88 and 89. We have another selection coming up.

Love the Milum pick out of West Virginia.
3xConsensus All-American, can play RT, LT, projects as a guard. Jaguars have 2 more picks at the top of round 4, which starts at noon tomorrow. That’s it for tonight.

I’m really wondering where the jags go next. I think pass rusher if there are any good potential in the 4th round. Also, a running back and one more wr maybe. Jags can get into the after draft free agency time to fill up anything left. I like etn and tank a lot. Plus we have that guy from Texas who was drafted last year who I can’t remember playing. I’d say another running back to create some competition.

We desperately need something up front that will move the needle, but we need something behind Hines-Allen and Walker just as much. I was hoping Xavier Watts would come to Jax but Atlanta got him at 96 overall. If you could go back in time, and you were a Jaguars fan, you would still make the Jalen Ramsey pick. He led us to an AFC championship game that we almost won. Yes we had to trade him away too soon, but we got two first round picks out of that deal.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

Let's look at this from a realistic point of view since most people I hear on the radio and read are making this guy the best football player to ever step on the field and he hasn't even played a snap in the NFL. Let's say that he is the second coming of Prime Time. When PT was drafted by the Falcons they were a similarly bad team to the Jags. Do you know how many winning seasons PT lead Atlanta to? 1, just 1. Was he a highlight on Atlanta? Heck yes, but as amazing as he was it didn't lead the team to winning. A player like PT was the cherry on top of a good team like he was the other places he played, not the main ingredient. Those of you that say "He will play both ways". Will he play some on both sides of the ball some? Probably, but those people that have this vision in their mind of him playing like he did in Colorado are crazy. This is the NFL not playing North Dakota State. I don't have a problem with the pick, according to all of you, it's amazing. What I have a problem with is that with a team so hurting for talent and having these guys that, according to them, know what their doing in the draft the Jags got 1 great player instead of 3.

That they see pick 36 as a value equivalent to pick 88 this year? The falcons were much farther behind than this team is, and they already put band aids on the gaping holes. Now with the addition of safety, guard, 2 picks in the next 6 with good value at needed positions left, and extra mid-round picks in next year's draft it seems like they put a working plan in place the last two days. They'll bring in a class of about seven rookies from this draft who will make the roster and be set to work the draft next year to replace the band aids. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
I like both picks. Depth pieces.
The Jags season will depend on COACHING and Trevor Lawrence. The rest..

Kinda funny seeing the war room looking all updated with tech and such.. Kinda used to seeing them in something like the janitor's closet with a camcorder.

I personally think Travis Hunter will be 70/30, max, with him primarily being utilized as a great WR2 to give BTJ a break or opening from time to time to cash in on as our established WR1. If he does see the field defensively it will be situational. He'll probably play inside the redzone in obvious 3rd down passing situations or in obvious 3rd down passing situations in closely contested games. I could also see him being thrown out there when our opponents are backed-up inside their own territory and we're looking for a big pass break up or interception opportunity to get the football back for the offense. As far as the overall draft? I think Gladstone did relatively well. Hunter is obviously capable of being a WR/CB. The fact that you get a two way athlete like that is a good deal in my opinion. He played exceptionally well on both sides of the ball at a higher altitude in Colorado. He'll take time to adjust, maybe, but, being compared to players like Champ Bailey, Charles Woodson, Odell Beckham Jr. & Justin Jefferson makes him well worth the investment. I think we're downplaying the value we picked up in RD3 as well. Ransaw is going to more than likely be a starting safety for us on this defense. With his size and speed and good tackling ability leaving Tulane he's exactly what this secondary has been missing. Hopefully the days of saying guys getting baptized over the middle are over sooner rather than later. As far as Milum? That's a steal in RD3. Most people had him as a late day one, early day two selection. He owned Abdul Carter at one point and he's versatile enough to either be our LT or start inside at RG or LG more than likely. Wouldn't even rule out C going into later on this year, early next year. With the team not picking up Lloyd's 5th year option, and, Muma also entering the final year of his 3rd RD contract, as well as Oluokon turning 30 this preseason? Jack Kiser made a ton of sense with where they selected him. Again, he's another sure tackler with great instincts. He'll keep the play in front of him. Tuten was the fastest RB from this class and he was either 1st or 2nd in yards after first contact last year. Allen is a pass catching threat from the RB position and can be lined up in the slot if needed. Monheim offers, again, multiple positions to play, if he's not strong enough to hold it down at C? Fine, try him out at LG or RG, maybe even LT. Almost every player this team drafted offers scheme versatility and the ability to play more than one position. That's how you're supposed to build your roster through the draft and that's how you ultimately maximize the overall value of each player by giving yourself multiple opportunities to move them around if needed. This team last year lost 5 - 7 games by one score or less. A lot of it came down to the failures listed above that they found strengths in player wise. They didn't have enough horses upfront along the offensive line to plug and play with. They couldn't run the football. They couldn't rely on any of their RB's to assist in the passing game. They didn't have a viable WR threat outside of BTJ. They had guys that couldn't tackle defensively or blew assignments in critical situations defensively. The list goes on and on. To me, this shows Gladstone and Coen went back and looked at most of our losses as quickly as they could last year and they came to the same conclusion most of us had already known. Baalke had drafted and signed a bunch of subpar football players at best that were being coached by a burned out staff that couldn't adapt nor scheme it's way out of a paper bag with a hole in it because the head coach refused to take ownership of the play calling and he had no clue how to build a strong enough supporting cast on defense staffing wise. While I don't expect Coen and Co. to turn things around immediately in year one. I expect this team to be hovering around .500 all year as they navigate the schedule and figure out their tendencies and weaknesses. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing; Rush in and die, dogs - I was a man before I was a king."
I like the idea of multiple guys offering max value with the ability to play multiple positions. Those type of guys are “football players.”
