Devastating Comparison Between Obama’s Baton Rouge Flood Response And Bush’s Response To Katrina Speaks Volumes

#21

Quote:I don't think people were mad at Bush because he didn't visit.  No one wanted him to visit.  That would have done more harm than good. They were mad because he didn't seem to be doing anything or getting anything done about it.

As for Obama, I don't know what good would come from him touring flood areas.   It'd probably just cause further chaos from the heightened security requirements of a Presidential visit.

So, not a good comparison.
I guess they weren't paying attention to all the stuff he was handling with FEMA, other government agencies, the states and governers of the states thought to be affected before the storm even hit.

As for Obama, I agree that there's not a point in touring areas no one should probably be in anyway, it's the fact that he just doesn't seem to care. The man doesn't get involved in things unless it furthers his agenda or he's backed into a corner.

But it was dumb to criticize George Bush.
It's not apples and oranges to the people who have lost everything.

MSM is real though. It's like a light switch. Remember the Ebola outbreak? What do you hear about it now? It was still in it's prime when the media fell silent and blacked it out from their collective memories. How about Russia and Ukraine? Zero, zip, nada. It's what's dictated to the media to cover. Things like the war between law enforcement and minorities and LGBT issues or whatever the hell it's called.

In short, if you want real news, don't turn on the TV. You will have to find it for yourself.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

A President is a figurehead, and sometimes in life, no matter who you are or what you're doing, just being there makes all the difference.

There's someone there today.

Probably too busy finishing off Malia's stash for her.

Regardless of the man in charge telling him and the President they didn't need the distraction? He never has listened to advice.

No, Bush did visit.  So far, 0bama has not.

Trump has.

Leaders lead.  They don't ask for permission.  Particularly not yours.

That is what Louisianas Governor was doing. Leading. Of course Trump couldn't pass up a photo op regardless of the states top leader requesting it.

He darn well should respect the Governor of the state.

It seems that nobody got the memo that The Messiah can't be interrupted from his Martha's Vineyard golf vacation to actually deal with the people that he serves leads rules.

Leaders do lead. That's a good point.

Considering the op of this thread and the title of this thread, one leader failed to have the federal government execute. The other leader had directed federal resources to reduce the amount of deaths dramatically.

Two leaders. One cared enough to make sure the federal response was executed effectively.

The leader led. Thanks President Obama.

I'm not sure what your babble is all about.  The Governor of Louisiana didn't request the visit from Trump.  I will say that he (the Governor) is doing a much better job than inmate Ray "chocolate city" Nagin did as Mayor of New Orleans during/after the Katrina crisis.

Donald Trump and Mike Pence did do much more than either President Obama or Hillary Clinton did.

Only in Imaginationland.

Benghazi is actually a terrific comparison here.

The Feds were prepared in Katrina.  Nagin and the local "leaders" were not, and did not do their job to tap the resources available in time.  This time, the local government is doing it's job... unlike then.  You do realize Nagin is in prison now, right?

Contrast with Behghazi, where the feds were begged to help and purposefully were stood down... letting people die.  Letting them die.

Bwahahaha!!!

You literally cannot make this stuff up folks!!

We're talking about Obama's response to a Louisiana natural disaster compared to Bush's response to a Louisiana natural disaster and we get a deflection to Bengazi!!!

It's Bengazi, folks! Are you losing an argument? Bengazi!!!

Don't know who's fault it is? Bengazi!!!

Your car won't start? Bengazi!!!!!

You do know that it was President Bush that actually pleaded with then Mayor Ray "chocolate city" Nagin to evacuate the city before the storm even hit right?  You do know that federal resources were available and ready to be deployed right?  Those deployments fall under the direction of local and state government officials.

Obama couldn't be bothered with this since he had an important tee time to make on the golf course in Martha's Vineyard.

Hillary Clinton couldn't be bothered with it so she took to twitter.
