Given my comment about where Trump made his speech, much of which targeted African-American voters, it should have been clear the choir to which he was preaching, and to which I was referring, was the predominately white crowd in attendance at a speech 40 miles from downtown Milwaukee.

Now, some of the points made by Trump, and have been made often by Republican politicians, have a great amount of validity. Paul Ryan in particular sounds like he knows what he's talking about. But Donald Trump is the last person on earth to come across as believable in this regard. Tell me one instance in which he's shown concern for the disadvantaged. Any social service organizations or boards? Any charitable efforts? Any support for any reforms or initiatives?

Eric Trump essentially runs the family charity, he's outlined a populist economic message based on the idea of bringing manufacturing and service jobs back to the country, specifically in larger urban areas.  He has been a strong proponent of school choice to give poorer families access to education and he is still using a progressive tax system (Easy Eric).

The better question is, what has black America gotten for its 50 years of monolithic support for Democrats?
