Do you really like your candidate or just despise the opposing candidate more

#21

I despised all the candidates except for Rand Paul and Ben Carson.  They were the only two I ever felt were genuine and not your average politician in a suit of lies.  On board the Gary Johnson train because I'm a libertarian.  I will say I prefer Trump to Clinton, and this scares me a little.

This is a matter of choosing between the one who is 89% evil, vs. the one who is 90% evil. Opinions seem to vary on this board as to which is which, and there are some who actually like Trump. Personally, I'd put Hillary at 90% evil and Trump as an unknown between 70% and 100% evil.

If I think there's a chance my vote might make a difference, I'll probably vote for Trump and hope he's closer to 70%. Otherwise, I'll vote for Johnson, even though he's not really a libertarian.

Johnson. Easy. Actually a man of principle who has consistently stood for the same things for a long time. He has experience balancing a budget and keeping the government off our backs.

I don't believe in our two party system. I think it's a sham and for the most part these candidates and presidents are being selected in advance by a Plutocracy. 2016 was just a death knell for my beliefs after all the lies and corruption were aired out for the first time in mass to the public. And it's so pathetic that people will still vote this year despite the truth being revealed.

Neither Trump nor Hillary are my candidate and I secretly wish we had parliamentary law so we could have more options, less gridlock and didn't necessarily have to deal with the consequences of the decision for a 4 year minimum. (plus the election cycle would be significantly decreased). I don't trust or like Hillary, but there's no way I am going to look my kid in the face years from now and tell her I gave her President Trump, a man who is so clearly unfit for the role on so many levels who is selling pipe dreams he can never deliver on. I blame a Republican party so broken, it didn't come close to nominating its best and brightest (even though that description makes for a very short list) and a crooked DNC chair who sandbagged the nomination for a party fixture. Yes Hillary is just about everything people say she is. And it pains me to to say I would rather have a competent, corrupt, lying president than an incompetent, corrupt, lying president who has the temperament of a 9 year old. The edge for me is that at least Hillary knows what she is lying about whereas Trump just makes things up because he does not know what he is talking about. I get the appeal of an outsider challenging the system (and I have confessed to voting third party before), but Trump will pour gasoline on any fire our nation faces and I cannot assist in giving a sociopath the nuclear codes. He's asked enough about them. That tells me he is more than willing to make nukes option A over diplomacy. Plus our oldest allies loathe him. If the polls really show a clear path of victory for Hillary as election day draws near, Deez Nuts will get my vote.

Your secret is safe with me.

As for my "vote", I can't stand either of the candidates at all. Won't vote for either.

Every day I realize how dangerous trump is for America.  Every day I see how entrenched in the status quo and corrupt Hillary is.

I have to vote for Hillary, cuz I'd rather get kicked in the nuts than have to eat a freshly grunted out poo sandwich.

On a side note, if I was the GOP, I'd be kicking myself.  Any other candidate (besides Cruz or Bush) would be killing Hillary right now.  Rubio or Paul would get my consideration over Hillary at this point.  All the GOP had to do was put up a normal candidate, but the put up that dumpster fire of an embarrasment.  It's pathetic.

I don't like either candidate.   I'm voting against Trump.

I disagree with ALL of his stated policy positions, and I don't think he has the temperament or the knowledge to be President.   I think he's the worst candidate I've ever seen at this level, and it's mind-boggling to me that anyone would vote for that guy.   If the Republicans had nominated any kind of decent candidate, there's about a 70% chance I would have voted for the Republican candidate.  But I simply cannot vote for this unqualified wacko, and I feel compelled to do something I never thought I would do, and that is, vote for Hillary Clinton.

They put up plenty of "normal" candidates. Trump would have beaten 30 people up there. Smart, smart man who tapped into the displeasure of most Americans.

Smart defined by being able to speak on a 4th grade level (..and being able to weave China and Mexico into an answer on whether or not there is racial disparity between black people and police.)

I actually like Hillary.  But I probably despise Donald Trump more than I like Hillary.  Hillary is far from my ideal candidate, but she's a hell of a lot closer than Mr. Trump University.  There's few candidates I'd consider Donald Trump over.  I'd vote for Marco Rubio over Donald Trump, and I don't like Rubio.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Johnson, though I wish Adrian Peterson were the nominee for the Libertarian party. I like him better than Johnson.

My husband keeps telling me voting for him gives Clinton the WH but I am NOT voting for Trump and I will not be bullied into doing so by people who have the same mindset. If enough people actually voted for the Libertarian party it would have a serious chance but people are too scared to 'give Hillary the vote' so will vote Trump even though they can't stand him.

For me - and the benefit of the GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD - I vote Hillary Clinton.

People here in the south saying she is worse than trump are just exhibiting how little they really know - as usual.

I have a friend who was denied VA benefits repeatedly for injuries /maladies /surgery needed stemming from his time in the middle east fighting for all of us stateside. Hillary personally, 100% on her own, with no reason to expect any personal gain, tore the VA a new one and got him approved. Because she also thought we owe a debt to those who defend our freedoms. So yeah, I am a fan.

I wonder how much of an effort she put into taking care of the men who defended our freedoms in, say, Benghazi?
