A shut down LB?

Quote:That's just the way its played. It looks stupid live but all teams do it. That's how Tom Brady is considered the best even though he couldn't hold Joe Montanas jock.

Right..... Since we have twice the athletes in todays game than we did when Joe played. Not a Brady fan but i understand no one has been better at the Qb position than him. He elevates everyones play around him. His weapons have been few and far between, best he has had is Gronk and Moss. All others were a product of him making them better.

Except last year when it counted.  Brady is a softy.  I respect how much they have won.  The Patriots run is incredible in the salary cap era.

BTW you can take that the athletes in today's game are X stuff and flush it.  The line play and CB/WR physicality was unmatched to today's watered down game.  Recency bias has gotten the better of you.  The greatest LB of all time remains Lawrence Taylor.  Let me guess the current people are more athletic?  Ronnie Lott was a wrecking ball on those SF Niners teams.  Their defense was stacked.

EDITED for Poor Grammar.

It's been obvious for over 10 years Brady see's the game in super slow motion. He is without a doubt the best Qb of all time given all the standards of their times. Jaguars for life, but I love Football, i want to see great things happen and there has been nothing greater than Tom Brady in football for a very long time. Hopefully...hopefully... we can have that (or something close)  with Bortles.

Ha!!

Defenses back in the day were allowed to defend. Offenses today would get destroyed if they played back in Montanas time.

Myles Jack has to learn the playbook and earn a starting role first (which I am sure he will do) but Fox Sports has him listed on their idea of the depth chart at http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/jacksonvill...epth-chart fourth string.  (which was surprising to me).

He learned the MIKE position while due to school he will miss some time, but it is expected that he will compete for SOLB over Skuta this preseason.

Is it more surprising than Linder backing up Cann? lol

I'm sure that there are counterpoints that can be used to our opinion.  Nostalgia does way heavy and is the counterpoint to Recency Bias.  That said Bullet Bob Hayes sure was one heck of a crazy athlete as well.

Hey ill admit the players are more athletic now but no one is going to convince me that this generation of players are even close to as tough as the players in the 80s n 90s. Those games were bloodbaths and current players agree.

Hopefully he can get his accuracy down sooner of later. this team has been down a solid QB for far too long XD

No way.. Liner is far better than Cann...( i mean its not even close.. Linder is Pro Bowl caliber while Cann is struggling).

I dont understand why they are moving Linder to Center and putting Cann at RG & having the cowboy back up play LG.. but that is what they have said to the press as intentions so far..

That FoxSports depth chart is TERRIBLE lol

Just a few things that jumped out to me on that depth chart:

Cann is starting over Linder at RG

Nic Jacobs is our backup flex TE to Julius (lol)

Quanterus Smith is 2nd string LEO

S.Marks is at NT

Abry Jones is NOT at NT

Alualu will be 2nd string to Malik instead of behind Odrik

Yannick is 2nd string to Odrik at the big end (lol)

Myles Jack is 4th string MLB (lol)

Telvin Smith is a SLB (LOL)

Dan Skuta is at WLB (LOL!)

Craig Loston is the backup FS

Nick Marshall is our PR (R.Greene??)

When has Cann struggled aside from rookie mistakes?
