I think we have something with Sheldon Day

Quote:I've watched a lot of Notre Dame games on NBC. His motor is tramidious and I believe the Jags are planning to use him at the 3tech but I also believe he can play some Nose as well. Especially on 3rd down

We need a better nose tackle on third down if he is any good at it.

I honestly don't know how this guy goes 3rd round.  Were that many teams just scared of him being 6'2"?  This guy is going to be scary good with pro-level weight training.  Once he gets some experience I want to see how creative they get so him and Malik can be out there at the same time rushing the passer.

It would be awesome if after Day made a sack or something, the Jags played a clip of Nightman.

"Sheldon Day with the sack"... (DAYMAN! Ah-Ah-Ah! Fighter of the Nightman! Ah-Ah-Ah!)

I have an issue with this name (Sheldon Day) and the expectation that this is going to be a big tough dude.

I keep having visions of this guy on our team

He's not long. That's why he went in the 4th. That and the depth in this years draft. I think he has a real shot to be a bigtime contributor.

Maybe part of it too is teams didn't see him as a 4-tech/3-4 DE, only as a 3-tech in a 4-3 scheme.  Much like Bennett last year.  Although I think Day is the better prospect.

I'll ask the question again, who made you queen of the board? You need to ease up on telling others what to do.

A Sheldon can do your taxes.

D-Day?

Mayday?

D-Day reminds me of Animal House or The Busboys.

"Can you look death in the face? The impending disaster?" Would be funny hearing that when he made a play.

Didn't watch Day, but his highlights remind me of Sen'Derrick. He looks a lot like him too.

I thought he would go much earlier in the draft. I know he was sitting there when our pick came around and I was saying to myself, please grab day.

I couldn't believe we got another player whose talent is much higher than his draft position.

this is the best draft I have ever seen a team have.

Does Day have versatility, or is he strictly 3T?

Thats the question IMO. I'm guessing that's what teams wondered also. I don't know that he can play a 5 tech. Too small for a 1 tech probably.

There is no doubt we have enough guys who play 3 tech with some aggressive/disruptive play at 5 tech too.  We will be cutting good football players who don't flash but will start elsewhere.

I've heard hes lined up at 3 tech, 5 tech, and some 7 tech (specifically at the senior bowl)

I think we've used lightning packages in the past.  All 4 linemen would be pass rushers.  I think we'll see the thunder package soon.  All big men on the line disrupting each gap to allow Ramsey/Jack/Skuta/Telvin/Poz/Cyp/Colvin to make plays.
