Trade up to pick 32 r 33 to grab Noah Spence..

#21

The Jaguars, for the first time in many years, have enough depth that they only need 3 or 4 draft picks to make the team. Therefore, trading up a couple of times to get the best players available at center/guard, pass rusher and linebacker would be the best strategy. Pass rusher is top priority so if they love one of those guys (Spence, Dodd, Ogbah) they should trade up to get him. If they are rated equally, wait for one to come to you at 38 and then trade back into the back of the 2nd for the best linebacker or o. lineman. Getting Spence/Dodd, Correa and Boehm/Martin would be very do-able.

This year has been noted by the Defense rich nature of Good athletes. Not Great, but good.

So if we stay a 38 and get our Edge Rush, then a LB either trading up or sitting, all the better.

There will be some camp fallout across the league and JAX will have a better than average shot.

Shoot, we haven't even talked about UDFA's yet.

When they have no time,  they think about it!

When they go down hard, they think about it!

Just watch Peyton, Andrew, Caep even Mr. Bundchen.

Quote:I think Jack falls to us at 38 or we go up and get him after swapping 2nd RD picks and giving up a 4th and 6th.
This needs to be the move.  Jack will be great and worth it in the long haul.

We will not draft Spence

Treated for drug addiction and banned for life from Big Ten after failed drug tests in 2013 and 2014. Arrested in May of 2015 for alcohol intoxication and second-degree disorderly conduct, but incident was expunged from record after community service.

At best, he's been clean for a year.  What happens when you give him guaranteed $$   ??

Too early. The best case scenario is a trade back. The best value in this draft is mid second round and the whole fourth round.

Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.

Quote:No, I think you're right.  The top of this draft was a little sparse on elite talent (only a few guys) but after that there's a good amount of talent in those 2nd, 3rd, and 4th tiers.

That was a theme about this draft...that between picks 15 and 100 there's a pool of good players.  Teams may have wildly different rankings on them.  The Jags have #38, #69 and #103.  What if Dave can get a player at #38 that he had in his top 15 (Spence?) or even his top 5 (Jack)?  Sweet.  Then Dave can either sit tight at #69 or see who starts to drop and go get him.  There may be another player with a 1st round grade that Dave can get by moving back into the 2nd round.

Can someone explain to me why no one likes Ogbah?

I am a fan, not a cheerleader.

Apparently he's not very good at football. I haven't heard one positive thing about him from any "expert".
