Carson Wentz

One of the nfl.com experts (can't remember which one) has been saying that Wentz/Goff could be better than Winston/Mariota.

Not sure about that one, but I guess we won't know until the season gets underway.

Quote:This one might come back to haunt me but I think Paxton Lynch will be the best QB from this class when all is said and done.

I think I agree. I believe cook and Goff are the most pro ready.

I think Goff is likely going to be a bust.

I think cook will be a solid QB for a while, probably slip into a solid backup role.

Lynch, I agree, I think after a few seasons he winds up being the best of the crop.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Yeah I quite like Lynch and as I said see him as the 2nd best QB this draft at this stage as Goff is more pro ready.

Goff I do like and think he will be a good starter, I just don't see it with Wentz one bit. He's just being drafted for his size and that's it.

2 out of 19 nfl evaluators believe that Wentz is the best player in the draft. I still don't see it personally but I've been wrong plenty of times already and likely will going forward!

On the other side Ramsey voted as best player!

An unnamed scout made a good point when mentioning a concern regarding Carson Wentz.   In that after Wentz was injured this past season,  a Freshman QB was able to lead North Dakota St. to the Championship Game on their level of competition and the team continued to score around the same amount of points that Wentz did.   North Dakota St.  has been a national power on the FCS level for a long time.   How much is Wentz a product of their system?

It is all measurables with him. Nothing else to really go by to be honest.

One thing I am amazed by is how much more proven prospects like Winston, Bridgewater and Bortles were scrutinized than Wentz or Goff.

Its strange isn't it. Very little bad press about these guys,I just don't see it in either of them.

I think both will be busts... one put up mediocre stats in FCS, and the other put up crazy stats while only going over .500 in one season. When I heard Sonny Dykes was the HC at Cal, I knew right away Goff is going to bust. He played in one of those air raid systems. Mayock compares Wentz to Luck... I definitely don't see that. This is why I view this year's draft as pretty weak overal. Even the top non-QBS are questionable.

Just glad we have Bortles.
