Yet another example of what a cruel world we live in at times.

So far, 7 people have been arrested following raids on 6 addresses in connection with yesterdays attacks which left 5 people dead (including 1 unarmed police office who was fatally stabbed) and 12 people seriously injured. 8 people also confirmed as 'less serious' or what we call 'walking wounded'.

The incident started with a solo attacker driving over Westminster Bridge and knocking down pedestrians in an attack which is said to be inspired by 'Islamic-related and or International terrorism'.

Amongst the victims were a group of French School children, of which 3 were injured and 5 South Korean tourists, 1 of which was seriously injured.

Further information can be found all over International News headlines, but personally I follow www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-39355108

My thoughts are with everyone involved at this time and with my colleagues in the London Ambulance Service for their hard work. Ambulance staff work hard 24/7 365, their commitment to the health and wellbeing of our public never ceases to amaze me and makes me so proud of the job I do.

Edit: I've just seen there's a thread about this in the Political Forum.. I never venture in there. Apologies.

Well guns have zero to do with this discussion but it wasn't an AR15 that flattened strangers with a vehicle for Allah.

Yep, Duval County has 359 registered sex offenders.  Kick 'em out.   Oh wait, they are US Citizens.  Now what?

So you are saying it's OK for city governments to protect rapists who come into the country illegally from being arrested because the US already has sex offenders?

Not a very persuasive argument.

We know why people would want to make it all about a mayor called Sadiq Khan though...
I completely understand what the mayor was saying.  However, that doesn't somehow make it acceptable to do so.  The rest of his statement was far more effective.  Implying this was a new reality that large cities should start getting used to was unnecessary.

I don't care that the mayor is a Muslim.  What I care more about is the fact that he supports the political policies that allow these terrorists to reside within the borders of his city, so when he suggests people should get used to it, he's doing so because his philosophy has actually introduced the cancer into the system to begin with.

He's been highly critical of the United States emphasizing enhanced border controls suggesting more of an open border approach here.  It's working well in his town, right?

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:The love children of the liberals strike yet again. I think all Looney liberals should let ISIS members move into each and every one of their homes. They are all equally insane and dangerous to America. That would leave one dangerous group and one extinct group of knuckleheads. That leaves one group to extinguish. The other group will simply Darwin themselves. What a beautiful thing.
Dude... You're one of the nuttiest guys on this board.

You might want to chill out.

Unfortunately, governments have tainted the "sex offender" label by including several non-sexual "crimes" in the statistics.  So you can't know if your neighbor is a child molester or just some guy who got caught taking a leak behind a dumpster.

That name doesn't sound British to me.

The extreme left still in denial.  More shocking is their blind defense.  Reflexive opposition without reason.

So, a name describes a nationality? In that case Drumpf doesn't sound very Amerikaner

So just change it.

Should immigrants change their names to sound more local? Many in this country did.

But beware Kareem Abdul Jabbar...you're on the watchlist. With that funky un Murikan name and all...

The turd who did this used many aliases in the past.

We absolutely need tight border controls here. Vigilant security measures. But to taking a persons name into consideration ?

Cruz.Rubio.Yoho. Gorsuch. Doesn't sound American. Yet they influence laws here. And not every Brit is named Winston.

There was a time when a Mc' preceded your last name kept you unemployed.

McShay. Benali. Then Yoshida. Then Schmidt. Things remain the same. Only the names have changed.

Evidently the quote from Trump Jr.'s tweet is from an article written last year when he was visiting with NYC Mayor Be Blasio. When you read the whole thing in context and know it wasn't said as a snide remark after the London attack, there really is nothing wrong with what he said. It's actually true. It sucks, but it's a true statement.

Story

In the article, Mr Khan was speaking shortly before a meeting with New York Mayor Bill De Blasio, on the day after three bombs exploded in New York City and nearby towns, wounding 29 people.

The attacks had given him a sleepless night, he said, as he pondered the dangers faced by big Western cities like New York and London.

"Part and parcel of living in a great global city is you have to be prepared for these sorts of things, you have to be vigilant, you have to support the police doing an incredibly hard job, you have to support the security services," he said.

Yep. Scotland Yard doesn't believe that was his birth name and they are in the process of checking his aliases.

You mean in his town where a person born in Britain with a violent history did the attack? Not sure how you can stop that?

He said people need to be vigilant living in cities like London and he's been proven to be correct. I'm not sure what you want him to say or do? Lie and say there's no threat in big cities? Lock everyone up?
