Marlon Mack

I like him, he's awesome to watch but I am not sold on his game translating to the pro level. He can't try to break everything outside at the pro level because the linebackers and safeties are probably as athletic as you he is.
He sounds like one of those guys that dances in the backfield a lot, can break off some long ones but gets tackled for a loss a good bit too. He could be a weapon if used correctly, but we said that about dRob too. I can see the comparison there, it's not 100% but it's not totally bogus.
Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.
Quote:Maybe if Drob was bigger and has been an RB all his life... That's fair. I was watching some film on Mack, and they're right about him typically bouncing it outside. In the NFL you can only get away with that if you have serious speed which DRob has. Marlon ran a 4.54, and I'm not quite convinced that's fast enough to capitalize in the NFL as an edge runner. Remember, DRob ran something in the 4.3s as I recall. Also, when you watch tape of Mack you can totally see how loose he holds the ball making it easy to understand why he fumbles so much. I noticed, btw, a clip for Kareem Hunt on the sideline. Now I already recognize his name as one of the top prospects that would be available when the Jaguars pick in round five. He's a fiesty RB who can run up the middle, and I'd be more comfortable with him in round five than Mack in round four. If we're picking RB in round three, I'm sure we can do much better than Mack even if Mixon and McNichols are both gone by then. We might be able to get Foreman or Kamara in round three.

I see Carolina or New England taking him in round 3. He lacks a 2nd gear though, to breakaway from runners in the open field. That's an important quality I want in our new RB. Kamara is definitely gonna go in round 2. He's the 4th rated RB on most boards I've seen. I'd love to get Foreman though, but I believe he goes in round 2 as well. He'd be ideal for a team like Oakland, which is where I believe he goes. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:If Fumbling is his only issue, why is he graded as a 3rd round pick instead of a 1st. Dalvin Cook is a mad fumbler and people are talking top 10 for him. There is something missing in this puzzle. I say this with all love though. I'm a USF alum. The Bulls finished as a top 25 program this last year. It isn't the SEC but it's not like Mount Union or something. Yeah but....He's a ??% SPARQ athlete!
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
A lot of the time he doesn't look like he knows what he's trying to do. The big runs are great but there's a ton of meh in there too
He tries to bounce everything outside and is underwhelming between the tackles. I'd take mcnichols before him
Yeah I think those of you saying he bounces everything outside are just regurgitating what you just read. I watched all 10 of his DB cutups for a second time and I don't see him bouncing it outside any more than anyone else of that style. Obviously he does it more than someone like Hill or Clement or Perine. Foreman is the guy you should be picking on for bouncing it outside too much for his type.
I think most of what you are blaming on bouncing outside are designed designed runs, which is obviously a big difference. I also saw plenty of successful between the tackles work. Fumbling is still my only real issue with him. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Watched a few games of his this year. I like him for us because our offense could really use a home run threat but the rest of his game is pretty meh. Would be decent in a rotation.
Meh I don't see it. I don't care what he ran at the combine, he doesn't look like a fluid or smooth athlete to me - like a Joe Mixon for example.
I think he's a mid to late round guy

I like the guy. He seems faster than his 40 but doesn't run as tough as 210 should.

He has a little bit of LaDanian Tomlinson or Brian Westbrook to him. If you love elusive and shifty type runners, than this is your guy. He'd be an upgrade over Yeldon (which doesnt say much) and I'd be willing to say he fits as high as the 3rd round.
Quote:A 4.5 is fine. Everyone says TJ Yeldon is slow, but he ran a 4.52 at the combine. Marlon Mack is even slower.
