Ayers and Amukamara to visit

Quote:You do when your stud DT is still coming back from a torn ACL and bicep over the past 2 seasons. That DT also is a pretty disruptive and versatile player they can use at tackle and end. If he's bringing pressure, and he's making the pocket uncomfortable for QBs, it's money well spent considering how anemic our pass rush was last year.

That being said, Ayers would be a guy who they could plug in as the veteran presence to mentor Fowler much the way they thought Clemons would last year. I'm betting Ayers would even show up for OTAs and training camp without the drama. I don't have a problem with them going down that path to add a veteran to the rotation.

Amukamura? Meh. I don't see that as an upgrade.

But the question is, would Ayers work on Wednesdays ?

He wasn't cut, his contract is just up and Dallas didn't resign him.

Hard to believe there were actually people on this very board who said he would be better than Patrick Peterson
10 years ago we had Bob Hope, Johnny Cash, and Steve Jobs..... Please don't die, Kevin Bacon.

The real question is does Young Metro trust you?

Ayers from what I've seen is more of a rusher from the inside. but did produce with 9.5 sacks last season.

Prince is a steal if healthy......... but if healthy. could be our best man press corner.

Caldwell just said on 1010xl that both players got their physicals done early this morning and will meet with the coaches soon.

To be fair, there were people not on this board that said that as well.

I'm pretty sure he is more of a zone coverage guy. I read somewhere we were looking at him because of how much cover 3 we play.

Frank Frangie tried to pronounce Amukamura yesterday and went a little something like this.....

Ama-Kuma-ra Instead of the appropriate way (I think) of Amuka-mura

Man, I was really hoping we'd sign Michael Hoomanawanui. Just to hear Frangie try and pronounce it.

Update is basically more of the same, but it gets specific with meeting dates and expected contract values...
