Depends on how many they keep but if I guessed right now I'll say Bennett

Is Bennett still eligible for the PS?

He's coming off two injury-plagued years, and we're about to hand a guy infinity dollars and twelve cents to play his position. I wouldn't be surprised if Marks has a new address by this time next week.
2? He was injured last year, and he played every game the season before. Don't forget how good he actually was before the ACL tear, and now he's been resting/preparing for awhile. We'd be foolish to let him go.

Tyson Alualu, Michael Bennett, and Andre Branch? If we pursue Vernon tomorrow like sources have said, we would cut all three of those to make room for Malik, Irvin, and Vernon.

For those of us that thinks Alualu is the odd man out, think again. He's been our primary dependable swing DT/DE for the past four years to say the least. I'd seriously be surprised if he was released this year...  IJS...

No, I hope not.   There's no reason to cut a great player when we have loads of cap room.   Besides, if what we want is pressure on the passer, right now we have Fowler, Marks, Jackson, that's it.

We don't have to cut anybody to make room for anybody right now.   We can carry 90 players on our roster.

Besides, Irvin is a linebacker, not a defensive lineman.

Yea we could depend on him to go out there and make zero impact. I mean honestly, the best play this guy has ever made was on offense.

Dont we usually keep 10 Dlineman a year?

Malik Jackson

Jared Odrick

Sendarick Marks

Roy Miller

Abry Jones

Ryan Davis

Dante Fowler Jr

Michael Bennett

Tyson Alualu

Thats 9. Did I forget someone obvious?  I'm sure we'll go after another DE either in free agency or the draft.

Andre Branch

Chris Smith

Q Smith

Richard Ash

These guys on the outside looking in.  if we sign more than one more DLineman I imagine Alualu or Bennett will be next on the list.

Agree.  Unless he's really broken down, like Hayward was after his achilles (and I don't think he is,) he's staying.

Yes they usually keep 10. Assuming they sign Vernon they may decide to keep all 10 again like last year or even possibly 11 if they pick up another in the draft.

That's not a bad thing since they keep harping on wanting a deep rotation on the D line. Considering a strong, constant, persistent rotation upfront has been proven effective for the most successful teams, I'm OK with that.

Cut Fowler. The guy is too injury prone.
