The Jags could have 100 million dollars in cap space by the start of Free Agency

When a team cuts a player with any kind of cap hit, he's no longer counts among the top 51 unless his dead money is that much. At that point, the guy who was the 52nd most expensive player becomes the 51st most expensive player meaning he suddenly counts against the cap. I'm not talking about the team finding a cheap player.

As for cutting all those players, it sounds like Caldwell isn't even going to cut Gerhart. I was merely exploring what it would take for them to reach $100 mil under if at all possible, although it really wouldn't hurt this roster to cut every player I just mentioned. Quite frankly, they all suck.

ABOUT US
The Jungle Forums is the Jaguars' biggest fan message board. Talking about the Jags since 2006, the Jungle was the team-endorsed home of all things Jaguars.

Since 2017, the Jungle is now independent of the team but still run by the same crew. We are here to support and discuss all things Jaguars and all things Duval!
