Riddick was a very good 3rd down back too yes, but he isn't a FA.

Who cares how many downs they play. They're better on 3rd down than your 3rd down specialist.

Playing the worst defenses in the league helped a little bit I'm sure. But yeah bring him in as compeition couldn't hurt.
