Quote:PFF has a hate-on for the Jaguars. Also, their grading used to be solid, but within the last couple of years it's become a total joke.

Parnell's a good player at a position where you only really need a good player. We'll have to draft an eventual replacement for him over the next couple of years, but he's solid in that spot right now.

True, they seriously don't like Blake Bortles.

It's not just Bortles. They gave Aaron Rodgers a negative rating the day after a 5-TD performance lol

Didn't they backtrack on the Rodgers grade though?

I don't recall. I was still too busy laughing to look it back up.

That's not true.

They're calling Blake as a franchise QB and made notice of his vast improvements. PFF also noted that he has ways to go but they give credit where it's due.

He did pretty dang good.

Once Linder comes back and they gel, he will be even better.

Now all we need is a center.

I have been saying for weeks center is our biggest weakness on the OL. Imagine how much bigger the gaps will be for T.J. Yeldon to run through with A.J. Cann at LG and a center who can run block.

Back in the preseason and through the first few games, Linder was like our secret beastmode. It seemed nobody to get by him, and I was thinking we found our next Leon Searcy. But then it's like it play suddenly regressed and started allowing some pressure. Two things make sense to me as possibilities short of some kind of unknown injury... 1. Linder helped him that much. 2. A weakness with his game was exposed on tape. He did seem to re-solidify toward the end of the season, so I'm hoping with Linder back he'll start looking like the guy we saw at the start of last year.

We need depth to challenge the starting LT LG and C spots.  And a healthy Linder.

Definitely seemed to fade off later in the season.

Hopefully a starting season under his belt will fix that. Overall I'd give him a B.

Parnell had two separate reported injuries.  The first was sometime around mid-season I think. Just after the bye if I recall correctly. (vs. Balt I think.)

He played through it and didn't miss snaps. The second was week 16 I think - and it was a hamstring that made him miss the last game.

BTW - when he played against Watt in week 6 - Linder had been out for 3 weeks -  and he still looked very good. Having Linder should help a bit - but I think it's more of a conditioning issue compounded by injury.

Why do you think it was a conditioning issue?

He's huge and has never been a full-time starter in the NFL and he played 100% of the offensive snaps for the Jaguars in 14 games in 2015.  It's likely that took a toll on him that he wasn't prepared for physically.  Bigger guys that don't have rotation help can wear down as the season goes on. Not uncommon - especially if they aren't in tip-top shape cardio-vascularly.
