Quote:Thank God we've never had the first pick or the talking heads at ESPN would explode!!

I have been through that before. I always did a drinking game with my friends centered around the draft. Had the 1st pick among my group for years. Looks like that's going to continue.

There is a running joke around here that if the Jags had the first pick in the draft, it would be the first time in history that the NFLnetwork and ESPN went to commercial at the start of the draft!
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

Imagine if the Jags managed to secure all 32 first round picks?

"And now we'll go to commercials for the entire first round!  See you tomorrow on day 2!"

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Maybe with a new fan on board the tide will turn!

Then again, wish in one hand, you know what in the other, and see which fills up first.

Former St. Louis Ram fan jaded by the team's move to LA. I was looking for a clean start, and I definitely like what the Jags are building. This isn't exactly getting in on the ground floor so to speak, but it's close.

I'm already looking forward to next season!

Welcome aboard MCG.

It's a shame about your former team, but what can you do when stubborn owner meets somewhat stubborn city leaders and the fans are caught in the middle?

I consider our awful 2012 2-14 season the "basement" (where all the flooding occurs) season, so you are actually pretty close to getting in on the ground floor. OK, maybe the 2nd overall ground floor, but just consider it the 2nd coming of the ground floor.

Now if we can just get off the ground floor and up to the 8th, 9th or hopefully the playoff level.

How long were you a fan of your old team? I guess you were a fan when they won the big one?

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Yes, I was a Rams fan all 21 years they were in STL. My dad took me to their first game in St. Louis at the old Busch Stadium when I was 10 years old. Didn't get to a whole lot of games after that, but one of them was the divisional playoff against the Vikings the year they won the Super Bowl.

Welcome aboard.

It's a good time to embark, IMO.  At least compared to the past several years in JagsNation.  Things are looking up but patience may still be required.

Quote:Profound disappointment? I think years of being "the next big thing" and never materializing has me well prepared.

Far too many posters just want to complain and don't act like the Jaguars fans they are. Be prepared to see a lot of Debbie Downers here.

Welcome to the Jaguars board. You made the right decision to stop supporting the Rams. I hope you like being a Jaguars fan.

Get used to being ecstatic when we win, and depressed when we lose (make sure you get used to the latter part).

Also, get used to seeing us Brits on here... I will clarify this for you, as I have done others on here: I may be British, but I have all of my own teeth, and they are straight/white.

80% of what I talk about is nonesense.. the other 25% is made up statistics...
