I want Beast Mode on a 2 year deal. Alex Mack on a 4 year deal. Any decent CB like Jenkins. And Oliver on defense.

I want to draft a CB, FS DE, LB, K, DE and a SS

Is Beast Mode a free agent?

How about Osemele as LG, Cann possibly to C? Osemele is a really good guard. Obviously the ideal would be to get Cordy Glenn as well but it's unlikely he hits FA.

Glenn-Osemele-Cann-Linder-Parnell would be a good line in my opinion (if Cann can adapt to C).

Quote:Joek is a Joke, Young wasn't much better. Parnell I thought would be a good addition but he showed me alot of missed blocks and poor blocks. Cann should improve nicely, I think we need to draft an O-lineman 1st pick and wouldn't put it past them to get a 2nd in the 2nd. We for some reason just don't get great results from free agents all the time.

No one is perfect in free agency. A lot of players that hit the market, hit the market for a reason. Whether they are believed to be just system guys or they are like Zane Beadles, who is actually terrible but looks good as long as the QB is experienced and can get rid of the ball quickly.

Didn't think of this.

A soon to be 30-year-old running back coming off injury, who's taken innumerable shots over the years and threatened retirement in each of the last two off seasons?

Add a couple linemen, and add a fullback or power running back. (Tolbert, Kuhn)

Quote:After noticing this thread I was hoping to fall upon some really good conversation. Instead, I traveled to what appears to be Fantasy Island. With all due respect because you're a moderator, why even mention Doug Martin or Ivory? If they go "anywhere" it won't be to Jacksonville. As far as Hillman is concerned, he's had a pretty decent year in Denver (that's the team playing for an AFC title) and if you're him......you gonna ponder to the Jags? I think maybe Caldwell has at least learned "something" from the Gerhart debacle. I'd be shocked if he is willing to throw around that kind of money again and besides no really decent RB is going to "want to" come here because A: TJ is thee man unless he got a memo stating otherwise and B: this OL is coming off a nightmare season yet again so what RB in their right mind is going to get excited about packing their FA bags and headin south. IF they decided to stick with what they have (including TG) and made remarkable improvements to their run blocking.........they'd be a really decent running team. No, the RB position doesn't need any more dollars focused there. Assuming they waive TG, that still leaves no rush to go out and shop for another RB in FA. If they have to have another one that bad............get him in the draft on the cheap and hope he is a sleeper pick.

Couldnt have said it better..

I may be in the minority here, but with a C in FA and OL in the 3rd or 4th round, the line should improve.  I just think we should snatch up Kelvin Taylor in a late round to replace Shoelace and then our running game should be on the rise again.

Season Tix, Section 409

2023 and still counting.....SB will finally be ours soon enough.

You should be concerned about talking to yourself. I hear it ain't good for ya.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

I keep thinking Gus should promote Marrone to Assisitant HC/Offensive Run Game Coordinator while bringing in a fresh OL Coach. The right OL Coach would help these guys get it together, and Marrone could work with the entire unit including the tight ends and running backs to really make it work when Oley does opt to run.

Agreed

Also agree Glenn doesn't hit FA

  • Release Beadles and save $5.5m cash flow this year.
  • Sign Kelechi Osmele to be a proven road grader at guard, and also delivers a backup LT.
  • Move Cann to center as Caldwell suggested.
  • Draft an OT in mid rounds to develop, and live with Joeckel and Parnell for another year (reality based on Caldwell's comments).
  • Release Gerhart and save $3.5m cash flow this year, and let Pierce walk away.
  • Sign a veteran free agent RB to be #2, and take a RB to develop later in the draft.
