Quote:Braxton Miller, WR, Ohio State - I feel like he's going to go in the Fourth or later and that's just a ton of talent to pick up that late. He's going to need some work to get on the field and some imagination by the Staff to get him the ball, but he's a hell of a football player.

During his senior season at Ohio State, he was used as a multipupose player, often lining up at running back and sometimes taking direct snaps. NFL scouts should watch him do that too, not just the pass-catching and route running stuff.

I don't want to draft a guy just to return kicks. If we are going to pick him, he should be a good depth player too.

Not saying we are going to draft him.

I know. Just saying if we do, he should be more than a kick returner.

Quote:Austin Blythe - C/G - Iowa.  4 year starter on the line for the Hawkeyes.  Has started at both G and C.  Not huge so may need to be a C in the NFL.  1st team All Big10 this past year.

Tyler Ervin - RB - San Jose St.  First team MWC.  Not a huge guy but is versatile.  Ran for a ton of yards.  Decent receiver out of the backfield... would line him up at WR.  Good return man.  poor man's Christian McCaffrey.  Small school stats but did run all over Auburn.  his size will drop him to day 3 I bet.

one more....

DJ Reader - DT - Clemson.    320 big man who is athletic.  But not sure what his deal is.  Was away from the team for awhile for "personal reasons".  Drugs?  Academics?  who knows.  But the guy is super athletic for his size.  Played right away as a freshman.  Was on the baseball team for awhile.  Sounds like a natural athlete.

This is why I love this part of the MB. I love reading about these guys that fly under the radar. You've given me some research to do, appreciate it!

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

I love reading about where players at positions we need to upgrade are projected. That gets me excited about the draft long before the end of April.

Nick Kwiatkowski- ILB - Probably a day 3 selection. Recruited as a Safety. Bulked up to around 235 to play LB.  Possibly replacing POZ eventually.

Victor Ochi - Stony Brook - 6'2" 255 DE

Had 11 sacks and 16.5 TFL last year. From all reports, he has been tearing it up at the Shrine practices so far.

Yup. Offensive Linemen don't know what to do with the guy because he's on them so quick. It'll be interesting to see how he stands up against a drive block.

Are there any good centers for our third round pick? We need one.

Ochi also measured in with 33.5" arms and an 82" wing span. This guy has LEO written all over him.

Damn. This is the first I've seen of his measurements. I like him more and more now!

Here is a potential late round OT the Jaguars could look at:

Pearce Slater - San Diego State - 6'7" 335 lbs

Massive guy who could be the perfect project to mold behind Parnell. The guy has Richard Collier-size and is a mauler in the run game.

BTW -  He moved up significantly on the CBS board (Rang/Brugler) since the Senior Bowl.

Was a projected 7th/UDFA  - now projected in the fifth and 16th at his position group.

I think Christian Hackenberg could be a steal in the late rounds. He had a great year as a true freshman and lit it up with Obrien as his coach and A-Rob to throw to. After Obrien took the job with the Texans and Franklin took over as coach for them he took a step backwards. I think he has the most arm talent in the draft and with NFL coaching he can develop into a top notch backup or a trade chip in a few years.
