Luke Joeckel's trade value?

#21

I'd guess a 4th rounder would be offered by a team in fairly desperate shape at tackle.

He's probably worth the first overall pick in the 6th round

Quote:Pretty sure every post I see from you, you try to pat yourself on the back. This coming from a guy who thought Alualu was good.

Also, when LJ was drafted, people used to knock him for not being physical enough, you were hardly the first one to say that.

You seem mad, Joe.

Probably because you were one of the ones berating me for saying he was a bad pick.

Alualu is a solid rotational player and doesn't potentially get our franchise QB killed every game. But obsess on, my friend.

I mad, bro.

I really don't care about someone's opinion on a rookie, they have about the same chance of being correct as anyone else does. I just find it funny you need to beg for approval on every post, then tell someone to "obsess on".

Quote:His trade value would not be nearly as high as his value to us as a passable LT.

This would be the way I view the situation from a Jaguars perspective at this time.

Unless the Jags can upgrade at LT in Free Agency,  which will be difficult,   having Joeckel on the roster during the draft gives Dave Caldwell more draft flexibility.    Even if the Jags draft a LT prospect in the first 2 rounds,  having Joeckel around in 2016 make sense from the standpoint of the rookie LT needing to earn his way into the starting lineup instead of having the job handed to him.

This sensible approach simply won't fly around here.

Within the first 5 to 10 days of the league year, our team's Left Tackle must be traded and he must be traded HARD!!   Wait, what?!

Looking through my post history, 4 of my last 100 or so posts have to do with Joeckel. And TWO have pointed out that I got flamed for predicting his ineptitude. Two is hardly "begging for approval in every post."

Its okay that I was correct on this and you were quick to flame me, and ended up being wrong. Its no big deal. I would suggest getting over it, really.

I don't know, that ham sandwich seems a little stacked to me.

Quote:If Jags could get a 3rd for him they should deal him yesterday. Dude is weak. He would be far more at home hosting a children's tv show or sorting books at a library.

Signed,

The guy that said he was soft two years ago whom everybody lol'd at.

The experts even said that he wasn't one of the stronger ones so I'll agree with you there. However, you can fix strong, but you can't fix stupid.

Dang... I didn't even look at other posts before making mine. Loving the trade partners here. Keep em coming.

4th... Maybe 3rd? He's not as awful as we make him out to be, but Beadles n Luke cannot hold down the left side anymore. They are a terrible duo.
If we had a decent guard, maybe the joke wouldn't seem so bad, or if we had a decent LT then beadles wouldn't seem so bad. But together? Bad news.

I never flamed you. I didn't know your stance on LJ until you mentioned it earlier.

Whatever makes you feel better.

Quote:Caldwell is good at finding lineman. I wonder if the pressure to make his first draft pick influenced him taking a guy everyone thought was a lock at #2.
He is? Then how is it we have the joke? Oh, I get it; you mean he's good at finding linemen, but not necessarily good linemen.

Caldwell was stuck with Gene Smith's scouting department in 2013. He revamped it after that draft.

They're both trash.

You can't keep a LT that is going to completely lose you the game twice a year. I don't care if he had 14 solid games - those other two could be crucial games to get in the playoffs, or even IN the playoffs.
