Quote:You can pretty much apply this to just about every "sequel" game out there. The gaming industry is a bunch of recycled content with added "features" and improved graphics. Oh there is a difference. 2k at least makes the gameplay realistic. In Madden... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5MdCn522Ms We show less advertisements to registered users. I used to be in a pc madden league 08-09, had a website and everything that the stats and stuff got aggregated into, would do a draft and all that stuff, stopped playing because it felt dated after I bought 10 on 360. If they would release a new game on pc, I'd probably buy it just because I know modders keep it running, though hell at this point it doesn't even have to be NFL, i'll take a game with made up teams as long as the gameplay was good lol. Quote:There's a difference of quality in those two series. 2k tries their best to make it realistic as possible and has a very nice core foundation with their engine. They don't need to change anything because it's almost flawless in terms of visual realism. Every player looks just like they do in real life, and they're able to get their tattoos down to perfection. Madden is built on a wonky engine, physics are weird, players don't look like they do in real life, the stadium/crowd is lackluster, and not to mention the unstoppable cheese plays. One is meant for just having fun (which Madden is, it's a fun game) and the other is for people that like simulation. I play 2k every year. There's tons of cheese, bad AI, glitches that don't get fixed from year to year. Simulation? 2k hasn't been a true sim since...2000? 2001? I mean, it's not as bad as Live, but still. I think 2k peeps like to pretend that 2k is still the glory years and that 2k hasn't sat on their laurels much like EA did when EA got exclusive of football games. Quote:I play 2k every year. They knew 2k would kill their NFL series just like they did with Live, so that's why they pushed so hard for an exclusive license. Every game has flaws, but at least 2k makes it less obvious and easier on the eyes.
You all are sooo wrong. Madden 16 is the best football game ever made period. It has cards you chose and then can play live games with it. Different buttons based on nature of catch. Has a very detailed owner mode and all about online play. Now back a few years ago I agree. But the NFL was about to pull their license. And they turned around and starting making very impressive games.

Mid to late 2nd rounds? Not sure if you can call him a sleeper next year, definitely was this years though. Quote:NFL 2k5 and All-Pro Football 2k8 were miles ahead of madden in every aspect. Every game has flaws, but at least 2k makes it less obvious and easier on the eyes. Both have had gamebreaking glitches. I've had players disappear in Madden franchise, and I've had EVERY player's stats drop overall by 15-20 points. For the entire NBA. I don't care too much about graphical glitches, because in the end that's all they are...graphics. They happen. I care more about cheese AI (Madden LBs who jump 20 ft in the air to knock passes down, 7 foot lumbering centers who lock down the best ball handling PGs in NBA2k), game breaking stuff in franchise (like i've mentioned previously), and frustrating in-game gameplay. In this case, the 2k hoops franchise has had just as many as Madden over the years, many remain after years and years of playing (and I've been playing 2k hoops since...2k? 2k1?)phantom back court calls, being pushed to backcourt or out of bounds with no calls, blatant backcourt violations not being called for PC, player AI "lumbering" on defense allowing CPU fastbreak points while CPU defenders running at super speed to stop player fastbreaks)... etc. |
