Tough break on this end for the prediction segment here,  as the Forum being down prevented me from making my predictions for Week # 16.  As it turned out,  I went 3-0  using the selections I used in FBT's contest but that's the breaks.   Much more importantly,  the Forum is back!

Based on reality,  my record still is 25-19.

Week # 17 selections:

Houston   (  The Jags not having Telvin Smith and T.J. Yeldon obviously makes a difficult task even more so.).

Indianapolis  (  The Colts QB situation is as bad as it gets on the NFL level.. But with the way Tennessee played last week,   I can't pick them to win the game outright based on their own injury situation.  ).

Not having this forum all of Week 16 was bad. With the playoffs and Black Monday coming up, plus 16 games that weekend, it was horrible timing.

Missing T.J. Yeldon will not be as bad as missing Telvin Smith IMO. Of course not having either player is going to hurt today. More bad news: Brian Hoyer is back, We are in Houston a week too late.

Indy's QB situation could not be worse. The Colts literally had no healthy quarterbacks. However no matter who their QB is, they are not as bad as the Titans. I can't see Tennessee winning either.

Colts and Texans. I was 3-0 last week too. Sucks the board was down. Hope we can trade down out of the first pick.
We learned in the Sunday School who made the sun shine through.  I know who made the moonshine too, back where I come from.

Not having either player put the Jags in a very difficult position.   But a solid case can be made that T.J. Yeldon is even more valuable than Telvin Smith against a good Defensive team like the Texans because you need a consistent running game to slow down an effective pass rush.   Having balance against J.J. Watt is imperative.

I will not talk about trades until NFL.com reveals the entire seven-round draft order except for untradable compensatory picks. That is just my personal preference; chat as much as you want about the picks that can be traded up or down.

Quote:Jacksonville @ Houston
Houston is looking to get into the playoffs and JJ Watt is going to use all of the hair gel and Under Armor Super Powers at his disposal to get the team hyped for the game. They do get Hoyer back from the concussion protocol and I think that's more important. Houston wins in a shootout.

What an absolute poo bomb of a game Jacksonville threw out there yesterday. That was bad. Like, the Locker Room giving up on Del Rio level of bad. WIN

Tennessee @ Indianapolis
No Mariota and Mularkey trying to provide motivation; sounds like a formula for success to me! That being said, who is Indy going to trot out on the field?!?! In a toss up, I'll take the home team; Indy wins a craptastic one.

I didn't watch it, but why do I have the sinking feeling that their game was a lot more fun to watch than our? WIN

Last week (15): 2 - 1

Overall: 26 - 21

This week: 2 - 0

Overall: 28 - 21

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

At least I finished over .500 as I ended up 25-24.

As for the Playoffs, I don't know who wins the Texans-Chiefs game, but I do think the winner of that game might very well win the AFC.

I agree with that. Both those teams defenses are playing lights out. If they continue at that level in the playoffs, they could have a real shot at it.

I actually feel that way about the Steelers-Bengals game.

I think Manning is finished.  If he falters as I predict, Osweiler is not experienced enough to pull out a win.  If Pittsburgh goes to Denver, I think they win.  Pitsburgh has proven they can score on Denver.  The Patriots are as banged up as I have seen them in over a decade.  They are home, but do they have the horses to compete?  I really like the defenses that Houston and KC have to offer.  But I don't trust either QB in the post season.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!
