First round pick order in 2016

Bosa isn't a good enough prospect to waste trading up 3 spots.
As far as the Ramsey hype, the guy is a special player in the secondary and I can guarantee you Dave and Gus (if he's here) will have Ramsey in at least their top 3 on the big board. He is literally everything they're looking for in a DB, he's basically the Fowler of the secondary this year. He is long, versatile, hits hard, and plays with an unmatched intensity and motor on the football field. Also happens to be an uber athlete that can legitimately compete for a gold medal in the olympics. He is going to post some absurd numbers for a DB at the combine. He is the only player in the draft that could be a probowler at multiple positions. "A man with no sauce is lost.

No, if we win on Sunday we could drop lower than that.

Quote:Bosa isn't a good enough prospect to waste trading up 3 spots. So where does he play here? I have been watching cutups of him on draftbreakdown and I am just not seeing the hype. He didn't really impress me as a CB, even though he does have the size/athleticism to play the spot but is severely lacking in the playmaking department. I have been watching some of his games from last year, because I think he will translate better as a safety in the NFL. FSU seemed to line him up a lot close to the line or in the slot vs in the center fielder role. His stats for this year are 0 ints and 1 fumbe recovery and 3 ints and 2 fumble recoveries for his Freshman/Sophomore years. I do like his attitude (even if he is from Nashville/tack country) and his size/athleticism but I am not sure he is the ball hawking/Earl Thomas/Ed Reed type that people are making him out to be. To me, he seems more like Byron Jones-type of player. Not trying to knock the guy, I am definitely curious about him as a prospect. Is there a game/games of him that I should watch to get a better feel?

I was just checking this out and if I'm looking at it right a win could send them all the way to 10th. Highest possible would be 3rd but highly unlikely. They'd need Dolphins, San Diego, Cowboys, and 49ers to win and lose to Houston.
You guys are way overrating INTs as a measure of ball skills. That's pretty much all your criticism comes down to. Is he a great off-man cover corner? No, but that's the only "weakness" to his game if you can even call it that. He's a lot better than Byron Jones. I'm not making no comparisons to him, all I know is he will be a very good player, All-Pro caliber, in a similar vein to Tyrann Mathieu. Nitpicking about his amount of INTs and FFs from the CB position is pretty ludicrous.

As for what position he plays on this team, he can play every position in the secondary for us. We can move him around, nothing says he has to be pigeonholed to what specific spot. But if we did, he would be a probowl player for us regardless if we put him at FS, SS, CB, or nickel CB.

Nitpicking about his amount of INTs and FFs from the CB position is pretty ludicrous. I nitpicked his INTs as a CB for this year but his prior two years he was a Safety and the numbers aren't much better. I have watched a few cutups and he seems to be better when he is closer to the line. I saw him makes plays whether disrupting the QB or batting down passes but when he was lined up a corner his coverage seemed suspect. I see that he is versatile but I'd rather have a stud at either safety or corner and I am not seeing that. If I am drafting a safety in the top 5 then I want a guy who makes plays (ie the Ints and fumbles). I did see Ramsey get his hands on a few balls and just dropped it so maybe that is something that can be overcome. My personal opinion is I'd rather have Hargreaves (especially if he measures at 5'11'') because he has showed to be an incredible cover guy with the playmaking skills to boot. I would also feel more comfortable with a veteran at the safety spot since this defense seems to encourage funneling players to that guy. Just like last year, I preferred what appeared to be the better pure pass rusher in Vic Beasley over the versatile Dante Fowler. I would rather take the pure corner over the versatile DB. If Ramsey is the pick, then I will trust Dave and rot for him regardless. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Ramsey played CB for FSU this year but I think he is a better fit at FS. I think Hargreaves could play either also. Either selection instantly improves our secondary.
Quote:Is 7th the absolute latest we can pick even if we win on Sunday? If the draft was today, we would get the seventh pick. I don't understand where people get top five picks from. Obviously, if we win on Sunday our record will be closer to Vernon Hargreaves than Jalen Ramsey . . . IF wins and losses elsewhere help us out.

That is why I am a fan of rooting for the worst teams when draft order articles start popping up.
This is something I wanted to post when the MB did not exist: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...raft-order

Quote:Bosa isn't a good enough prospect to waste trading up 3 spots. Who proposed trading up three spots to pick Bosa? Are you making that up? Also, who do you think would want to trade up that much for the guy compared to J..J. Watt?
Quote:If we win our record will be closer to Hargreaves than Ramsey? OK. I'll bite. Let me know What is Hargreaves and Ramsey's record? I don't blame you for misunderstanding that one. By record I meant the win/loss percentage for all 16 games. It has nothing to do with the grades players get from NFL scouts. |
