We're on to the Falcons

#21

I think we lose 21-16. I hope we win but this team has struggles to be consistent.

Ive believed we could beat the falcons for awhile but Im not going to lie, knowing that they are on a losing streak makes me a bit nervous. Not to mentioned that they also lost in a big blow out last week scares me.

Hopefully our Def is pumped after last week, let alone the whole team and we can win it.

I think it's finally coming together. I could see us winning out.

We'll win this one comfortably. It's the Saints I worry about.

Man, if we had only beaten the tacks or the Chargers, we'd be sitting pretty.

What does Atlanta being on a losing streak have to do with our chances of winning? What matters is whether how they lose games and how we win games match up in our favor.

I can answer that. We got beat by the chargers at our home who was on a loseing streak. Bucs beat us in Tampa which at the time had a long time home loseing streak. then tittians beat in tensse and at that time they were winless this year at home. Hadn't won a game there since beating us there last season. Being a young growing team we have played down to our oppents, and at times we have played up to our weekly oppenent.

Quote:What are your guys early feelings on the game?

The Falcons are on quite the losing streak.  Including a 38-0 drubbing from the Panthers last week.  They also lost to the clots 24-21 a few weeks ago.

Julio Jones is scary and having a fantastic year but not much more scares me from their offense.  I think this should be a winnable game and one we can win by a comfortable margin at home.

I know we as Jaguars fans have been lead to many let downs in the past.  It's not abnormal.  I don't expect that this week.  My gut tells me this team rides the emotion of last week and comes out firing, unlike last weeks 1st half.

By the numbers the teams are pretty evenly matched.

My early prediction is 34-20 Jaguars over the Falcons.

Is it my emotion from yesterdays second half that is having me feeling good about this game?  I don't know.
As good as I feel after we drubbed the Clots yesterday, this Atlanta game feels like San Diego v. 2.0.  They seem to pose some of the same problems for our defense as the Bolts.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

Exactly how I feel, as well. Although, the Falcons have a much better running back (Freeman).

Hopefully, our defense plays at a high level.

None of that means anything. How many consecutive games a team lost has absolutely nothing to do with whether that team will win or lose the next week.

We have to outscore opponents.

Our D held Indy to 9 points offensively, but their Oline is one of the worst, with an old beat up back up QB.

Don't expect to shut down ATL. But you can bank on Ryan making a mistake or two, he is Matty RZINT.

32-28 kind of ending I suspect, a swing either way.

No it doesn't. How they lost, the point margin, etc. are important. Why should anyone care whether the losses were consecutive or not? If we only went by streaks, nobody would expect the Jaguars to win any games.

The Failcons have sucked the last eight games and Matt Ryan has been AWFUL.

There's only two ways this can go down:

1. We ride the momentum from this past Sunday and we annihilate them. There's no excuse to suck after putting up 51 points and the defense not allowing a TD. The clots beat this sorry team and picked off Ryan TWICE.

2. There's no way in hell they'll lose to the lowly Jaguars, so they practice harder than they ever have to demolish us. We come out flat and look lost the entire game, our defense can't stop Julio. Matt Ryan throws for 400yds 3TD's, Julio 2TD's, Random Player 1TD, Freeman 120yds 1TD, Trufant 1 Pick Six.

Yes it does matter if they are consecutive losses. Because, as Tom Coughlin and other successful coaches will tell you, winning..... and losing.............is contagious! It's habit forming.

Look, the clots pretty much shut down ARob, which enabled Blake to spread the wealth to other receivers. The Jags can do the same to Julio Jones.........and Atlanta doesn't have the quality of other receivers that the Jags have to receive the benefit of that extra concentration on Jones. In other words, we should focus on shutting down Jones and let Matt Ryan try to beat us by utilizing his other receivers.

The Colts shut down Allen Robinson because Vontae Davis is a better cornerback than any of ours. We are not stopping Julio Jones if McCray, Gratz, and Marshall split snaps with House and Colvin.

Great receivers get their catches no matter who defenses them. I believe that ARob would dominate most db's over time. He had an "off " game, for him. Julio Jones is also a great receiver, but Atlanta got shut out by Carolina last week, despite Jones' 8 or 9 catches. Jones has only 6 touchdowns all year, despite his 100+ catches. My point is that you can't let Julio have a monster game........something like 15 catches, 150 yards, 3 touchdowns. He'll get his 8-10 catches for 75 yards........just design a game plan that limits his effectiveness, and Make Ryan go elsewhere to beat us.

Will this one come down to whichever team has the ball last?
