Jags are up to pick #7 after Ravens win

Quote:Hargreaves is vastly overrated on here imo. Jaylon Tabor is the real star in that secondary.
they are both great corners. Probably the 2 best corners in college. If any thing you are underrating Hargreaves. You dont see the ball thrown to Hargreaves side very often. When it is he usually makes a play on the ball. Best corner to come out since Peterson. Tabor will be a top 10 pick next year

I'd rather more pass rush help to be honest.

I'd prefer a pass rusher, but as of right now, Hargreaves seems like he will be the best available player outside of Bosa (I'm not sold of Nkemdiche).

Now in a dream world we could get a Hargreaves in the 1st, and then get a S.Calhoun, S.Wright, Y.Ngakoue, or J.Bullard in the 2nd to help the pass rush.

Quote:7 would be a good spot to be guaranteed one of Ramsey, VH3, Jack, or Smith.

My happiness would also be guaranteed if we land one of those guys.

Yes, oddly enough  .... if you're shooting for a high draft pick, the key is to lose to bad teams.

1 win could change our draft position 5 spots to the bad.

You misread my comment. I said we need bad teams to lose their other games.

I would be very happy if this ends up to be the Jaguars draft position, although I tend to think they'll win 2 more games and pick somewhere between 9-12. Dallas, S.F. and Cleveland are likely to take quarterbacks, so the Jaguars will end up with one of their top 6-9 possibilities. I would expect this list to include these players:

Bosa, Nkemdiche, Ogbah, and Shaq Lawson on the defensive line.

J. Smith and Myles Jack - linebackers

J. Ramsay and Hargreaves- defensive backs

Tunsil and Stanley- O. Tackle

Looking at the above list, a couple of these guys will probably be eliminated due to performance or character concerns by the draft in May. That will still enable them to get at least one of the players on this list. If they are able to land Gipson in free agency, hopefully they will get either one of the elite pass rushers or Jaylen Smith. Myles Jack is too risky due to his injury this season. If Joeckel doesn't get better, the 2 offensive tackles also need to be seriously considered. I watched Ingram and other Charger d. linemen easily get around him consistently on Sunday. This must stop or Caldwell will be forced to acknowledge his 1st draft choice is a bust and move on.

If you want Bosa or Hargreaves, #7 is not high enough. Trading up would be required - if it is even possible.

It also is stupid to think winning two games is a bad thing. If you like the Jaguars, you want to win every week.

Winning 2 games is not a bad thing. I have attended every Jaguars home game since 1995 and have NEVER hoped that they lose. Realistically, I do expect them to only win 2 more games and pick slightly lower than number 7. However, it is possible that they can win 2 more games and still pick at number 7 depending on what the other teams do.That would make me happy, although winning every remaining game would even make me happier. As far as your comment about Bosa and Hargreaves, I did not say that they would be available for the Jaguars-only that they would be on their list of top players to hope for. Bosa will most likely be gone, however Hargreaves is a toss-up. His lack of height will deter some teams from taking him that high.

If we are picking at #7, I can almost guarantee that VH3 will not be available at our pick...

Finally someone else understands what I have been saying all along. I will look up records and schedules for other losing teams to figure out who can help the Jaguars get a higher pick.

I totally agree about Bosa, but am not so sure Hargreaves will drop out of the top five just because of his size. If the worst teams need a cornerback, he will be at the top of their board.
