Quote:The Ravens just had a Bye week to get healthy and work on their problems, mistakes, and add new wrinkles. And next up : Dick Lebeau.

Quote:And next up : [BAD WORD REMOVED] Lebeau. Does it not let us say Dick Lebeau's name on here? I'll just call him Charles Richard then. He usually gives young guys fits but the offense we'll have to deal with it

Yes, Blake does hold the ball too long at times. But, the Ravens were able to get constant pressure, and not just on blitz packages. Dave will need to invest additional draft or free agency resources to improve this dreadful O-Line.
The very first sack of the game came as a result of Luke Joeckel getting knocked on his can! The man was getting beat like a drum all afternoon. I would say that Joeckel isn't the whole problem on our line, far from it; however, I will say that for as high a draft pick as he was, and being into what is now his third season, the man is clearly not living up to expectations. I hope we're looking at OT's this coming draft.

The O-line is not that bad. It is about average. It can't give the QB 5 or more seconds but it can be sufficient to give him 3 seconds. The weakness is the Jags designed more long-pass plays where it required the QB to hold the ball longer than 3 seconds. As a matter of facts, not many O-lines in the league can unless they play against the Jags' defense.
they weren't good but like others have said the ravens front 7 is pretty good and their secondary played well yesterday for the first time this season. We just finished a 3 game stretch of the toughest defenses left on the schedule I would expect improvement the rest of the year.
Go Jags!
*To stay up for atleast 2 years 3/6/17 2016 draft players I think will be good
What the ravens defense did yesterday by way of bringing the house will become the model for other teams playing the Jags. We just don't have a very good o-line that can protect against an aggressive pass rush. Net result... BB throws a lot of ints, near ints, fumbles, or gets sacked. We need help just about everywhere on this team come draft time except maybe with receivers. We really need help on our o-line, d-line, safeties, corners, linebackers... we probably need to pick up an extra quarterback too as BB is going to get hurt the way things have been going.

I think they saw a chink in Yeldons blitz pickups against the Jets and copied that. Whatever the case may be, the line/backs get too easily overwhelmed lately. Part of of this too, is being on the road. With the noise, it is harder to hard count to get the blitz to show and then change your protection.
Hopefully, they can implement some more hard counts to help the line and Bortles out with blitz diagnosis with the next 2 games at home. |
