House, Davon

Quote:House cost us the game. He had two AWFUL plays for Touchdowns. I don't care how many yards he gave up. It doesn't mean anything if he gives up two tds a game

Hehe.

Uh,, 4 turnovers dude (3 by BB, 1 muffed punt at a critical juncture).

Why did Buffalo lose in London?

Oh yeah,,

multiple costly turnovers.

Don't waste your time with that one. He's either just trolling or watching from a parellel universe in which understanding football is incredibly difficult.

Considering who he was covering I thought he did okay, but man I cant say the same about Aaron Colvin.... good thing the Jets didnt realize it & throw his way more.. he didnt do so hot..

House did a stand up job containing Marshall. In this game the coverage issue had to do with Decker schooling Colvin.

House is actually a pretty good cornerback...

He's not all-pro but he's not hot turd either. I felt bad for him during the Texans game because Gus, the hard-head, decided not to put a safety over the top to help House out against Hopkins - even when it became blatantly apparent at times.

You need to gameplan against the best players on the opposing team, especially against a player of Hopkins caliber...

House is the LEAST of my worries on defense.

I just want to know why we play Cyprien as the deep safety, when he clearly does not possess the speed or acumen to play in that role. He is suited more like a SS, but doesn't play like one - which basically defeats his purpose as a player.

Good CBs dont give up crucial catches or TDs every week. He consistently does this week in week out. I dont care how well he played before then. Lets try playing well all game start to finish

He was in position. Brandon marshall made a great play (push off). That happens. He fights hard and makes plays on the ball. Ideally he would be the second corner with a true lock down guy but hes playing with little to no safety help and little to no pass rush.

The best corner in the game gave up 120 yards to Robinson, House gave up 40 yards to a similar WR in Marshall including one that should have been took off for a push off.

I don't get the House hate. We need better safeties though. Colvin was a let down yesterday at times, he did slip on one big gain by Decker but he got beaten a few times too. Honestly I think that was one of the best games we've played this year on offense/defense. The Marshall fumble and Poz not recovering the Ivory fumble cost us hard. Special teams need serious work too...

Quote:44 yards total against House, 20 of which should have been reversed on that "touchdown" since the ball hit the ground.
and Marshall pushed off

House played well, Colvin was the one being torched by Decker

Wait... someone's trying to say that House had a bad game?

He basically shut down Marshall all day, with the exception of the Push off/Non-Catch TD which was just terrible officiating.

House played solid.

Colvin, on the other hand, REALLY struggled against Decker.

Also, it was Colvin, not House who gave up the other TD.

You guys pick some very odd players to complain about sometimes...

Edit - I fail at spelling.

Too bad some of you don't see it

Considering this is your last reply in the thread, I can't really fault his response. House battled one of the best WRs in the league and did a stand up job limiting Marshall to his worst game this season. Even the best corners allow an occasional TD, and there's no way you can fault House for the Decker TD. Decker ran a route out of the slot in the middle of the field while House was lined up way outside with no chance to get anywhere near the play.

There's always excuses.

"Player X went up against one of the best so that's why he got torched"

think about that statement right there ^^^

House is not one of the best but he is a starting caliber NFL corner. It's not like we are paying him elite money so I don't see the problem. The only bad game he had is when our buffoon coach decided to put him on an island with DeAndre friggin Hopkins with no help for 60 minutes.

It's funny when you complain because I agree with you alot of the time, but when you bash the few good players on the team you look like a moron.

There's excuses made for every player subpar performance

unwittingly, you guys are making David M. Caldwell look bad, so keep it up

No excuses for House. He got whipped by Hopkins 1 on 1. It's not his fault though, nobody can cover Nuk Hopkins all game. If you thought we could pay a CB $25 mil and expect him to shut down elite WRs, then you are as big of a buffoon as bobblehead Gus.
