It'll all play out. To many big games left to be played.

I agree. But it still does not make sense. I am no Florida fan but there is no reason they should be ranked below Alabama.

No they don't. Look at how far Alabama dropped after losing to Ole Miss. Then they could not get back in the top 10 after barely beating Tennessee.

Quote:My thing with Alabama is they lost to the best team they have played in Ole Miss. They struggled to beat a fairly mediocre Tennessee team. Why are they at 4?

Using that logic, why is Ohio State in the top four after struggling against Hawaii, Northern Illinois, and Indiana?

I agree Alabama should not be #4 because of the loss to Ole Miss, who got blown out by Florida and lost to Memphis. They don't need to include two SEC teams who will meet this week.

Keep in mind this is a current snapshot.  None of the good Big12 teams have played each other.  Baylor's strength of schedule as of right now is embarassingly low.  But that'll change within the next month.

The Big 12 has three undefeated teams. Reality will set in for Baylor and Oklahoma State, but it is hard to argue against TCU.

TCU still doesn't have a defense. That's gonna be a problem for them.

LOL Last year that was a hallmark of the Big 12. Nobody in that conference has a defense.

Exactly, which makes it difficult for them to get in the top 4. Their out of conference schedules are generally terrible, and their in-conference opponents don't play defense. Makes it a little harder to gauge how good these teams truly are. Could they hang 60 on a good team outside of the big 12? That's for the committee to decide. Right now they're not convinced and neither am I.

Points don't matter. None of the top four teams scored 60 points every week. Look at Notre Dame - they are ranked too high because their loss was at Clemson, not how many points they scored against the lesser teams.

Yes but they're going to have to score 60 on any of the top teams to win because they don't have a defense

TCU will be there in end. Boykin will get them there. Things get interesting for the SEC because what happens if LSU beats Bama but then loses to Olé Miss and let's say Olé Miss wins out and beats Florida in a rematch for the SEC champ game..does the SEC still get LSU or anyone in?

If that happens, LSU will be a one-loss team, but not be selected because of its failure to play in the SEC title game. Because Ole Miss (I hate autocorrect) got blown out at Florida and lost to AAC member Memphis, the Rebels don't belong in the discussion.  But people are going to talk about Ole Miss anyway as long as the Rebels are mathematically alive in the SEC West race.

There is definitely an argument to be made for Florida over Bama for sure. As it's played out, they probably should be ahead.

If Florida jumps Alabama will that be the first time a team started the year unranked and finished in the top 5?

LOL No, people are just pointing out the fact that if LSU wins Saturday, Alabama will have two losses - one more than the Gators. And if you have two losses, you don't belong in the playoffs.

I am not one of the crazy people who thinks Florida is a playoff team.
