Greg Olsen has done better than I expected.  Would just like to see passing plays that get yardage, and allow the receivers to 'sit down' in the secondary without getting hit.  Not eVery play, but there should be some..  especially for first downs.

But I thought Gus is doing a bad job at developing players? That given the talent Caldwell has brought in, that this team (especially offense where majority of our picks and FA money are invested in) should be much better? Now Olson is doing "more with less"?

The talent is there. The coaches are doing an "OK" job (not exceptional). Its just inconsistent given how young this team is.

He's a decent transitional OC.  Help Blake develop until we get the coaching change this offseason and hopefully can convince a big time OC candidate to come to Jacksonville and coach the likes of Bortles, Hurns and Robinson, Yeldon, Thomas etc.

Quote:I agree with 'jagshype' that olsen has value as a developmental coach. But I also see his play calling as unimaginative and narrow minded, which leads to scenarios like the one in London... attempting to run the same goal line play four times in a row with the same ball carrier. C'mon man...

So while I think he's good for a team with a particularly young offense, I don't see him as being a good long term coach here. I could easily see him as the HC of a college team though. Frankly, I credit the growth and gained experience of the players for the better stats far more than the play calling.

Quite frankly I think he's done a phenomenal job. Far too much emphasis is being placed on the four-in-a-row call for Gerhart. The Jaguars still won that game, and overall his playcalling has been a breath of fresh air compared to anything I've seen since the glory days under Coughlin. The only area where Olson needs to pick it up is in the red zone, and not just because of the four-in-a-row, but overall the team has had to settle for too many FGs. I keep hoping Julius being back would change that, and it would have started to look that way had that INT in the end zone vs the Texans been a JT TD instead.

Gus is doing a bad job...IMO...

The offense has been a strong area of the team (although inconsistent).

However, Bradley's Specialty, defense has stunk it up (with the exception of about 4 minutes in the last game) and Special Teams have been special in a bad kind of way.

So, I think some credit is due to Olson, but not so much Bradley.

Greg Olson is the guy I want for OC for a long time with this team. Why?

This link here is pretty much all you need to know of why. (ignore the kicker bit)

And just to address last game's 4 straight toby runs at goal-line, My tin-foil hat theory is that was Olson calling Toby out and displaying either why he is here or why he won't be here. "Im going to give 4 straight runs, Get in or Get gone after the seasons over"

Can't wait to see whats next.

There's a salmon in my oven right now. Its dying words were, "Go deep." It is officially a better offensive coordinator than Jedd Fisch.

Yes, most of us already knew Jedd Fisch was no better then a dead fish and they both have something in common. They stink over time.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

So.... Olson is to credit.

Gus is to blame.

Blake is meh.

Joker and Cyp busts.

Resign Scoobs.

Oakland's GM is better.

Man... is enjoying the win + bye week over already?

That article is cringeworthy:

Quote: "At 2-5, this is the best start the franchise has had since 2011 (when the team was also 2-5)."

Stop farting rainbows. Sure the signs are positive but we still can't win ballgames

Really? So with the game within 2 scores, our OC is focusing on player evaluation? Don't be naive. Toby sucks and it was a bad call by Olson
