Bortles matched Mariota's production lol

But BB5 would do better than Carr against them...  And Mariotta would get destroyed...  No doubt in my mind
Eh. I like Bortles as much as the next guy but that defense is going to make every QB they play this year look bad.

We'll never know because we won't play them.  So in my mind, he still goes for at least 250 and 2 TDs...   :thanks:

Only Bortles can throw for 4 td's and 300 and still lose in a game where it doesn't seem like it shouldn't been 7 points close. It's like it's useless stats and all cosmetics on an ugly pig. Usually passing 4 td's get you a W especially against a sorry team but not in Duval.

He's looking pretty bad today too...
Hope you feel good about yourself punk. Yay the quarterback who was drafted later in the draft which Bortles was in is struggling. Your team still sucks and they have a better record than you you lame.

Quote:Mariota against the Bucs: 13/15, 209 yards, 86.7%, 13.93, 4TD/0INT, 97.3QBR, 158.3 passer rating

Bortles against the Bucs: 23/33, 303 yards, 69.7%, 9.18, 4TD/1INT, 125.4 passer rating

:teehee:

Your insecurity is showing, in what delusional world can anyone reasonably say he matched Mariota's performance? Mariota put up his numbers in a dominant first half of football. It took Bortles all the way into garbage while getting blown out by that very same 'horribad' team that lets anyone walk all over them. Bortles played better today than ever, but he was still making poor decisions and inaccurate throws and struggled with his pocket awareness. Regardless, what do you think championing Bortles performance today during a blowout to the worst team in the league really proves? He wasn't nearly as effective in his 2nd year as a pro as a rookie was in his first half of pro football.

You're right.  He didn't match Mariotta.  He out classed him...

Mariotta threw the ball 15 times...  That's teebow-esque!!  LOL!

Face it, Mariotta is not the guy you thought he was...  He's a spread/read-option QB...  Those QBs flash and then flame out...  Enjoy this year and maybe half of next year....  Then buh-bye

Outclassed him? Mariota had a higher YPA, higher completion percentage, higher TD%, less turnovers, a higher QB rating, a higher QBR, and won the game in dominating fashion. He was essentially pulled in the first half they were up so big. On the other hand, Bortles had the luxury of padding his stats while the game was already out of hand. I'm not saying Bortles didn't play well, because he did. But to try and twist that and argue he played even better than Mariota is delusional. Regardless, you're comparing a 2nd year pro to a project QB in his first start ever.

Well the Jags just did get blown out by the worst team in the NFL last year and possibly for this one as well. I'd say that reason enough to be upset.

15 passes...  Majority of the yards were after the catch....

Sorry broseph...  BB5 looked like a real QB...  Mariotta is 1 read, check down, read option...

That won't get it done as a franchise QB.  But enjoy this season...

Isn't it interesting that Mariotta seems to be falling back down to earth?

hmmm....  indeed.  Quite interesting...

My favorite part is how you have to edit your posts and still can't put together a complete sentence.

Yeah blown out, while we continue to watch your boy Marcus implode as well. 1 good half of football coming out of the gate, then he's gone.

Guessing you didn't see any of the game, as his third touchdown gave Jax the lead. Hardly garbage time.
