NFL wants to play games in Mexico & Germany now

Scarecrow, adding to what you said, I believe that the reduced practice time is also contributing to the problems many teams are having on their Offensive Lines. That's putting more and more QBs at risk for injury. If the NFL continues to lose starting QBs to injury, that might lead to both the NFL and NFLPA increasing practice time in the off-season and having less restrictions in training camp. Quote:I feel this is the best approach as well. They should also reduce the preseason to two games and increase the number of joint practices/scrimmages between neighboring non-conference teams. This would be an additional concession to the NFLPA (and quite frankly to season ticket holders as well) in exchange for the additional regular season game. I like the foundation of what you mentioned. One concern though is the travel time to Tokyo. In the regular season, that would even be more pronounced. That much more for teams in the Eastern and even Central Time Zones. I gladly admit one of my motivations for this type of plan is it would lessen the chances of playoff expansion. W/o an increase in the regular season games, I have little hope about the playoffs remaining the way they currently are.
Quote:I like the foundation of what you mentioned. Well I've thought about this as well. There was a time when each team had two byes each season. If the league ever went to a 17 or even 18 game regular season, there would be good reason to revive the idea of a second bye for each team. Then a team traveling overseas could have their overseas game scheduled around a bye and/or a thursday night matchup. For instance, a team could have a Thursday night matchup, then get on a plane on Friday or Saturday to their international destination like Tokyo. Then they have their international game the following Sunday then come back and have a bye the next week. The few times I've been overseas, it's always taken me 2 or 3 days to get adjusted to the new timezone and 2 or 3 to get adjusted when I get back home. I imagine it's the same for most though I could be wrong. If the above scenario happened early in the season for a team, having a second bye later in the season wouldn't necessarily put undue stress on a roster for the rest of a long season. Though I like you suggestion, the greatest obstacle appears to be the Sunday Afternoon TV Networks that are NFL broadcast partners. Back when they had 2 byes per season, the networks complained that there weren't enough good games available to them in many given weeks. With the money FOX and CBS is paying for the rights to televise NFL games, they have major influence in NFL scheduling decisions. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:I'm sure you've compiled mounds of "evidence" for how we couldn't possibly have gone to the moon as well, but in this instance it's about the money. Always has been, always will be. There's more room for growth of the game internationally than there is at home. It's that simple.http://www.businessinsider.com/airbus-just-patented-a-jet-that-can-fly-from-london-to-new-york-in-1-hour-2015-7 in regards to the upper comment: why would believing one thing or knowing something mean you lump it with other theories? Everything g is unto itself. But the above link proves I am right in this instance
Quote:Nfl owners are billionaire lawyers. They have influence and connections to government etc. Quote:http://www.businessinsider.com/airbus-just-patented-a-jet-that-can-fly-from-london-to-new-york-in-1-hour-2015-7 You again? You're initial supposition was that some new, hidden travel technology is driving NFL international expansion. Not only is this beyond absurd (hint: It's about the money, current travel technology is already sufficient), even your linked article doesn't support it. I assume you read the whole thing, right? They patented a design for a 20 person supersonic jet... 20 person. Let that sink in. There's 48 players active on game day. There's 27 coaches and support staff listed on Jaguars.com that would travel as well. You'd need 4 separate planes, or one plane to make 4 trips for the bare minimum of people that would need to travel. This isn't a feasible mode of transportation for anyone in the league but NFL owners and their guests for the foreseeable future. I'm sure supersonic 100+ passenger transatlantic planes will the norm one day, but your supposition was that this is right around the corner and that it is or could be driving NFL international expansion... If that's the case, why didn't the NFL expand overseas when the Concorde was still in service? The second to last line in the article is interesting as well: "As with most patented ideas, it's unlikely the jet will ever enter production." But this is the proof right? You could have easily clarified your original statement instead of pretending you didn't say it. Just admit you have no idea about economics or business and lets move on. I mean, this really isn't hard to understand.
I didn't say anything about anything
hidden or about anything driving anything. I said something would make it realistically possible and that's what's happening. What are you denying or trying to argue? You said it wouldn't or couldn't happen and this is an example of it being entirely possible. If you want argue that government and the wealthy don't have access to this info early on that would also be a mistake on your part.

Quote:Oh lord... I'm not doing this. I'd highly recommend that you take a reading comprehension class, sir. Good day! My comprehensive abilities are quite extensive. Money can't drive anything if the ability to do something isn't present. They can't have a league team in Europe at the present rate of travel time.it would be too taxing on everyone. This makes it more feasible. You are just being a pretentious pseudo intellectual smart [BLEEP] making it more difficult than need be.
This has nothing to do with a conspiracy,it is happening. You pointing out it said only 20 is pointless. You can naturally assume that will expand. The Concorde was an earlier design "in the past".
None of that is the same as the present rate of travel and again, the way it is now,no one would want to do twice a week. I can see 2 steps ahead while it is your comprehension that is lacking. How is it a conspiracy that the rich and powerful know and utilize things well in advance of public knowledge? That's a reality of life
