Drob to miss several weeks

I am not comparing them. My point is the only logical reason to keep Grant is he runs better than someone else on the roster, who happens to be Gerhart.

There are plenty of logical reasons to keep Grant, and none of them have to do with him being a better RB than Gerhart. Grant brings an element of speed to the RB position, and he's also the team's KR. Grant's speed allows him to backup a guy like DRob and allows the team to use him a role much like the Eagles use Darren Sproles. Gerhart is used in an entirely different set of circumstances.

Dangit, i'm a huge Denard fan.  I'm guessing it's a safe bet that TJ will end up the better back, but i gotta say i get excited when Denard hits the field with that speed.  These injuries are getting old!

So we will have a running back committee? I thought Grant was in there for backup purposes only with Gerhart and Robinson out.

I can't wait to see the full offense on the field. Get well DRob!

Technically three.

What does that mean? Three weeks always means three games.

Several is technically 3?

Or he's expected to miss 3 games?

I think that headline is misleading. Several to me gives the feeling of a 5-8 week thing. Not 2-3. Just nitpicking I guess.

@ryanohalloran: Denard Robinson had a big brace on his left knee and needed crutches. Said sprained MCL but wouldn't estimate how long he'd be out.

The Jaguars may have come out of Sunday with a win but they did suffer several bumps and bruises along the way. Running back Denard Robinson is now considered week-to-week with a knee sprain he suffered in the first quarter and wide receiver Rashad Greene needed further evaluation for a thumb injury he received against Miami.

Is Grant better in short yardage situations? Is he a better pass catcher? Can he stay back and block?

The team has been using a bit of a committee approach, and indeed Grant and Pierce might be part of such an approach with Gerhart and Robinson out. But it's not his primary role to be their backup. His primary role is to get scatback-type snaps during games in key situations.

Quote:Toiby Gerhart moved to fullback because he sucks at tailback. Why do you think we got Corey Grant, who is obviously a better runner than Gerhart?
You should really just stick to editorializing on cat sweaters.

Gerhart isn't a FB, and never has been.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

What if there happens to be a bye week during that 3 weeks?

Now I'm really confused.

3 weeks ALWAYS means 3 games?

Unless one is a bye week.
