Defensive line

Quote:If Tyson Alualu can go out for a catch as a FB why not try M. Lewis as a LB and put him on Gronk? (A terrible idea, meant as a joke).Poz? Poz is the last person on our defense we eant matched up on Gronk. Poz is way too slow to even think about covering Gronk. If we could somehow get McCray on Gronk would be our best bet as he is our best defender man to man and also has the most size We show less advertisements to registered users. I was thinking Telvin and our SS bracketing would be optimal. Can't wait to see how we approach it.

Haha, not really that terrible of an idea for the red zone maybe. Play a zone with Marcedes or preferably Allen Robinson on Gronk in the red zone. Their sole responsibility would be to shut down the fades and jump balls to Gronk that he always wins. Gronk is amazing, but he can't out jump Allen Robinson for a ball. Let the safeties and LBs worry about the ins on the backline and slants. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! The coaching staff was aware of needing more pass rushers thus the first round pick. They will have to scheme more blitzes and get creative to make up for the lack of pressure.
Can we discuss our liabilities later? We finally won a home game against a potential playoff team, with injuries to boot.
Enough we won...but....

If you want someone bigger, you are talking about Poz or Skuta....Arod has never played defense. Cyprien and Telvin have been defending TEs their whole life. I really want you to try to imagine Arod getting blocked by Gronk. He would end up a quadriplegic.
Quote:Arod has never played defense. Cyprien and Telvin have been defending TEs their whole life. Not saying he wouldn't. Just saying he is big and physical enough to do it.
Is Gronk suddenly the world's strongest man or something? Cornerbacks get lined up against Gronk frequently.
Quote:Not saying he wouldn't. Just saying he is big and physical enough to do it.Just because he's big and physical doesn't mean he can play defense. Leave it to the guys who can. Telvin is going to be a busy man this week, but he's the one guy out there who is probably up to the challenge. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:Is Gronk suddenly the world's strongest man or something? Cornerbacks get lined up against Gronk frequently.I was thinking the same thing. With the rule changes and the way the game is played today, that is the only reason i see Gronk staying dominant over his career. He's no world beater but since you cant touch any receiver until they securely catch the ball or have a 80% chance of making the catch, he'll be worshiped by the new football generation. He's big and strong and plays with Brady, Julian, and an offense that has the best route timing i've ever seen consistently. Stop pulling the man's jock strp.
Season Tix, Section 409
2023 and still counting.....SB will finally be ours soon enough. TLaw aka 'the prince that was promised' supporter.
Quote:He's really not. Then you are a fool if you think he is too small to go up for a jump ball over Gronk. He would win 50/50 jump balls all day against Gronk.
Quote:Can we discuss our liabilities later? We finally won a home game against a potential playoff team, with injuries to boot. I can't be the only fan who worried about the possibility of losing in the fourth quarter with the score tied at 20. It was obvious if we lost, the reason would have been giving Ryan Tannehill all day to throw. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:So he's big and physical enough to do it, but you agree that he'd get destroyed... I am saying the skill set and size is there to do it, whether he actually would is a whole different ball game. We already know that nobody on our defense can win a jump ball against Gronk. Jump ball, redzone, zone situations only. Nobody wants Arob or Marcedes actually covering Gronk. They would get destroyed, as you put it. Quote:Then you are a fool if you think he is too small to go up for a jump ball over Gronk. He would win 50/50 jump balls all day against Gronk.lol you suggested using Arod to defend Gronk and I'm the fool. No one said Arod is too small to win a jump ball versus Gronk. I'm saying its the dumbest idea I've ever heard to put Arod on D. Even If he wins 50/50 of the jump balls, and gets destroyed in the run game, hate to break it to Ya, the pats would pass/ run behind Gronk on every play. Quote:I am saying the skill set and size is there to do it, whether he actually would is a whole different ball game. We already know that nobody on our defense can win a jump ball against Gronk. If the Pats or any team saw a WR on defense in the red zone, they'd go after him immediately., and likely score anyway. There would be no point. |
