This is the problem. We need to have a winning culture not a lets get better culture. All the great teams have a demanding mandate to win and comes from the coach, and team leaders. Not seeing any of that here.


And keep it in context. If you were bottom five in terms of your work output for the past 2 years, people would not have your back and say oh but he's improving! You would be fired.

I don't disagree but I do think context is required, as well. Based on where we've been and where we are (at least by last week's appearances), it's unrealistic to expect a win every week or "demand" said win. As a fan, yeah, I expect the team to win, but losses do happen and we have been given no reason to think this team is in a state that every week we can feel confident that a win is likely. Didn't say possible, but likely.


With that said, the more "suck" that exists, the more losses continue to mount, of course someone (or multiple someones!) should be held accountable and replaced. Absolutely.


But being attempting to be a realistic, level-headed person, I want to see building blocks, improvements, some clear reasons for optimism regardless of the outcome of the game. This is a game we have everything going. Momentum is back to the Jags. Statistics mostly in our favor. Tempo has been controlled primarily by our team. We have a lead to start the second half.

 

I DO EXPECT A WIN at this point. However, heaven forbid we blow it as is historical at this point, it should at least be a very clear sign of improvement, reflecting that this team is quite possibly where so many of us think it is and should be: a team that should finish the year at/around .500 and giving GOOD teams a hard time. No reason to naively believe that THIS team should win every week and then just end up pissed off when they rarely do.
