Pros and Cons of firing Gus Bradley

#21

If we start 0-4, fire Bradley and promote Marrone.

Keep Marrone as head coach unless another proven HC becomes available (like Sean Payton).

I understand that we will have to drastically overpay to get a coach like that to come to jacksonville, but it's worth it.

This. Our backs are already against the wall.

Need to face the reality that a big name quality coach is not going to come here nor will the organization pay enough to lure somebody here.

We are stuck with what we got, and hoping that Bradley does learn and the lightbulb comes on, as pathetic as that situation sounds.

We don't know that. After seeing what he has seen, maybe Khan will do everything in his power to win.

PRO: We find a new coach and new hope

CON: Shad loses a little money paying 2 coaches salaries

*No coach in the history of the NFL has started with as bad a record as GB and won a Super Bowl.  Does anyone really believe he is going to write the history books and be the first?

0-4 is a very, very real possibility

Firing the head coach that early in the season is stupid. What exactly is going to happen after that?

The team will get coached by another guy with a better track record, that's what.

No they wont.  They will be coached by somebody already on the staff... That doesn't change anything.

Bradley is breeding a pansy culture.  He gives everyone an out and holds no one at all accountable, not even himself.  At a minimum, at least you put an end to that and it would send a message that people are accountable in the Jags organization.

Bradley is irrelevant anyway.  Marrone could be the interim HC and it would give DC and Khan 3-4 months head start on their HC search.

I dont think one thing you just said is true.  The only message it sends this early in the season is that its already lost.... after ONE GAME.

The guy coaches defense.  The defense is pretty good.  Firing him just hurts that and helps the offense NONE.

33 games, 7-26, use facts.

Well, it's not like it can get worse. And Marrone did go 9-7 last year with EJ Manuel and Kyle Orton at QB.

Gus Bradley isn't getting fired at this point.  If the team continues to play like this, we can revisit, but as of right now it's just one game.  Let's see how the team rebounds vs. Miami.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It's not one game. It's two years and one game of absolute terrible football.

Yes, it can get worse.  We lost 20-9.  We have lost much worse than that at home.

I'm not necessarily advocating to fire him today but to claim it's only 1 game is not the correct view point.  The Jags picked up right where they left off last season.  GB is 7-26 (33 games is a good sample size).  He has a 21% winning percentage as a HC and nothing is showing that we are getting better yet in the REGULAR season.  Time will tell, but that's where we are.

No kidding.  Firing him mid season is not doing anything.  The offseason is where you make changes.
