What Do You Want To See Against the Giants?
|
Quote:Run clogging by the d line and good/smart plays by the linebackers. How about some aggressive play by our corners too.3 3&outs would be quite discouraging actually. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Same things we saw at home last week against the Squeelers. Bortles needs his receivers to catch the football when he gets it to them. The running game needs to show up like it did last week and House needs to not get beat and burned on the 1st series. The defense in general needs to show up. We gave up three passes for basically 60 yards and a TD and Big Ben called it a night. I didn't see any push up front at all from the front seven. That needs to improve. Offensively, back to them, just need to see Bortles NOT take any shots OR sacks in this one. That would make me feel a bit better leading up into the regular season. All-in-all. Should be another solid showing.

Quote:I want to see the first team D rebound against a first team O. That first series (only series Big Ben played) was a disaster. It wasn't good by any means... but the explosive play on House can't happen. Take away that and maybe we are able to force a field goal. 0 pass rush can't happen (but we had 0 starters on dline) Quote:3 3&outs would be quite discouraging actually. My point is I'm not reading into it either way too much. 2 TDs and most of the first team offense is done for the day. 3 bad drives and the same. There is no game planning and it's adjust vanilla defenses. As long as the players are playing fundamentally sound (catching catchable balls, hitting good holes, blocking appropriately, Bortles making smart plays) and everyone is healthy, there is no reason to overreact. This offense isn't a world beater and will struggle at times this year, esp against good defenses. Being consistently above that is our key to success. Defense, IMO, will much more interested to watch since they'll be playing almost all their starters/contributors unlike the offense. Thomas/Lee/Yeldon are not getting many snaps if any. Quote:This is why 3 3&outs would be discouraging. Fair point, but I think you're reading into my statement and the preseason too much.
I'd like for us to beat their 1st team instead of us fooling ourselves into feeling good about our backups beating their backups.
Remember people, the Steelers lost to the Vikes 14-3 ..... their backups suck !!!

I expect bortles to try to attack that early.. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Do I even need to bring this up...Luke Joke needs to lose his nickname and start acting like the 2nd over all pick in the 2013 draft. He should be a young seasoned veteran by now. Sexton is still trying to hype him on on his video segments...just be like Vic and say "help is not on the way."

I'd like to see our team finish the game relatively healthy with no more serious injuries...
Quote:EasyI would love to see a repeat of last year's Jaguars Defensive Line pass rush against the Giants! The key things I will be looking for in this game are; #1.) Offensive Line improvement especially LT Luke Joeckel - while RT Free Agent Parnell made a couple mistakes like the penalty he drew he played fairly well, Beadles made a mistake or two but the only true failure last week was Luke. He needs to prove to us fans that he is actually improved during the offseason. #2.) Safety Development - Now that SS Cyprien is out due to injury will the backfield totally collapse, or can they step it up? #3.) CB play - How does House, Aaron Colvin, McCray play against the Giants mighty WRs & Eli's arm? #4.) RB War - Which Jaguar will emerge as the Ultimate Warrior? #5.) Dline Domination - Can they win the war at the lines, Odrick will play so should be fun to watch how he does and I'm still interested in Bennett's play later on in the game. Can Capi repeat sacks? #6.) Bortles Mania - I want to see him win it with his arm and not his legs, scares me when he takes chances like that during Preseason. #7.) TE Crush - Please Clay catch the balls this time, can TEs step up with Thomas out due to middle finger injury? #8.) Olson playcalling - I enjoyed watching a glimse of what might come this season, and while I understand if much is vanilla it will be nice to see a few of his plays from the playbook. #9.) Danger Will Robinson - I'm hoping to see him make more spectcular catches than Odell (as long as he doesnt risk getting injured). #10.) Special Teams is special - I want to see that ST has actually improved this year.
The following players will not play against the Giants;
TE Julius Thomas (hand/middle finger) SS Johnathan Cyprien (finger) WR Marqise Lee (hamstring) DT Sen’Derrick Marks (knee) FS James Sample (forearm) CB Peyton Thomson (hamstring) RT Brennan Williams (knee) WR Neal Sterling (hamstring) Bradley then added a ninth player to the list — DE Chris Clemons, who returned to practice Monday after being sidelined with an undisclosed non-football issue. Game time decisions are; RB Yeldon (Pinky finger) DT Roy Miller (knee) ------------------------- SS Josh Evans was indeed benched in favour of Craig Loston We show less advertisements to registered users. Hard to keep a fresh 1st team squad out there , but , man would it be nice !?
What Slinger said
Plus...first quarter the Offense and Defense getting better and showing they can play with a top team. Learn more about the depth and talent of the backups. Don't have to win, just develop and tighten up
Because Jaguars is our mantra

IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

Quote:I wouldn't exactly call NYG a "top team" these days. The Giants, to me, are schizophrenic. They are capable of playing with anyone but at the same time, it's anyone's guess which team is going to show up on any given [Sun]day.

I wanna see Eli throw 6 picks, but gotta wait until the regular season for that.
I just want to see the game... NFLN isn't replaying the game until Monday morning
