TY Hilton signs extension 5yr/$65m

#21

Quote:I'm implying Romo isn't the quality of quarterback that Luck is.  Luck to Bryant would be > 50 TDs.  Thus, I think Romo to Hilton would be less production.  So on an even comparison Luck receivers has inflated stats, which skews the contract Hilton received.

I don't think the gap between Romo and Luck is that wide. Statistically, Luck had a great year throwing for over 4,700 yards and 40 TDs...he also threw the ball 616 times.

Romo, by comparison, threw for 3,705 yards, 34 TDs and 9 INTs on 435 attempts...almost 200 less attempts than Luck (granted Romo missed a game last year against ARI)

Romo has been putting up great numbers for his entire career, the obvious knock on him is his inablility to win in the post-season. However, back to the original point, I think TY deserves what he got; he isn't in the top tier of receivers and his contract reflects that being slightly below what Dez and D.Thomas received.
