If we draft Hutchinson, next year's defense could be pretty good. Better coverage leads to more sacks, more pass rush means more turnovers. Pret-ty pret-ty good...

At least it's a premium position.Reading up on him, it doesn't seem like he plays the slot that much. Does this mean Griffin moves to nickel? Certainly not Campbell. I wouldn't be opposed to DW and TC outside and Griffin in the slot. I'm sure the full scouting reports from the pro personnel dept. have been analyzed and they know who they want to put where, but I admit that I really don't know except that it's unlikely Campbell slides in. I'd say he was the best "bargain" so far. Not only is he a very good player, but he fills a big need covering the slot receiver. As a bonus, he reportedly took less money to come here than other offers since he is a hometown guy. One other thing about Williams is that he is reportedly the "anti-Ramsay"- very humble and lets his play on the field do the talking. We show less advertisements to registered users. At least it's a premium position. You have to given our cap space combined with Lawrence’s rookie deal. You have to capitalize on the opportunity. If Lawrence takes the step many expect, we will contend for the division this year. Yes, Darious has been an outside corner for his career. It's a testament to him that he has fared so well outside at his size. I think his traits also lend to him being very good in the slot too. He'll have to learn run fits and stuff but from a coverage standpoint I think he'd be just fine. However, Shaq and Campbell do not have nickel traits so I think it's going to have to be Darious by default. We all remember completely washed up Edelman absolutely abusing Campbell from the slot. That would be the story of the season if either Griffin or Campbell line up inside.

Hearkening back to the past several weeks of this MB lamenting that NO ONE will sign with the Jags in free agency if we don't fire Baalke and we'll have to overpay all of them. Yes, I know we are still overpaying them, and I'm good with it We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
This will be SEVEN starters we've signed in the last 2 days. If we get 3 starters from the draft, that will be TEN new starters next year.

I will admit that money talked more than I thought it would with the non premium position names. Actually, I am more surprised that other teams have stayed as frugal as they have despite so much cap space league wide. I saw very few eye popping contracts handed out that weren't ours. I still say we used a franchise altering amount of cap space on a non franchise altering list of names. I am very happy that we got the one premium position guy that does change my outlook a fair amount, probably like a full letter grade if we were handing out grades (I'm sure we will have a grades thread once FA wraps up). Thanks hometown.
