Trade #3 to Jets and draft Beasley or WR at #6

Quote:Regardless if Blackmon comes back or not, WR is a possibility.

We don't have a true go to WR and there may be two at the top of the draft. The top 2 receivers are better prospects and all those edge rushers.

0% chance. cooper and white to me arent better prospects than blackmon.

cooper isnt really that much of an upgrade to lee, to me.

kevin white on the other hand, has potential to be really good.....but not worth it at all if blackmon is back.

In the 2014 draft, the Bills moved up from pick 9 to pick 4, and had to throw in an additional 2015 1st and 4th round picks.

In the 2013 draft, the Dolphins moved up from pick 12 to pick 3, and had to just add in a 2013 2nd round pick.

In the 2012 draft, the Cowboys moved up from pick 14 to pick 6, and had to just add in a 2012 2nd round pick.

In the 2012 draft, the Jaguars moved up from pick 7 to pick 5, and had to just add in a 2012 4th round pick.

Putting the trade chart aside, the most recent drafts suggest that the Jets could fairly offer the Jags (for pick 3) pick 6, plus a 2nd or 3rd round pick (I doubt it would be a 2nd and another pick such as a 4th as suggested).

If the Jets wouldn't offer a 2nd, I'd take a 3rd and 4th. There's enough depth in this draft to get quality players in the 3rd and 4th or they could move back up into the 2nd with the extra 2 picks if there's a player they covet.

I do like the idea of trading down with the Jets if they are after Mariota (due to Titans taking Williams).  I agree there is a good chance that Fowler would still be there at 6.

Who says that you need a true number 1 receiver? There's maybe only 5-7 players that fit that billing. Look back to last years superbowl teams. Jags WR corps is better than both the Pats and the Hawks.

No its not man stop it. Edelman and Lafell > our receivers

You really think Brandon Lafell is better than Robinson or Lee? That's scary. Please look at Lafells numbers pre-Tom Brady. Very below average receiver.

Edelman is a slot guy and even though he's good, it's better to have a threat out wide like Robinson. The patriots have Gronk and he's elite, everybody else on their wr corps is average with barely any upside.

I think there's 0% chance Blackmon comes back and is even half the player he was last year.  Stick a fork in him.

Caldwell sees the Blackmon situation as assumes he won't be back.  That's why receiver is in play in round 1.

I'd like to know how you know that.

Kind of like how you knew there's "0% chance" of that happening.

Because they're not going to let blackmon back if they don't think he can contribute.

That's just logic.

He can contribute as a backup player or even start if he plays better than anyone else.

He can also just get suspended again.

He also hasn't been reinstated yet.

He's completely out of the equation at this point and it's less than 2 weeks away from the draft.

Good lord. I figured the naivety regarding Blackmon had completely dissipated from this board but guess not.

Blackmon could lose a leg in a freak forklift accident and some of you people would be all "when he trains that other leg real good and get back..."

Dude is done. Let it go. And I believe receiver is definitely in play in round 1.

Receiver is in play, but not at 3. Blackmon is not done, or else he would just retire.

In your opinion.

I'm starting to believe Amari Cooper is BAP

It might turn out that way but I think there's at least a 50-50 chance that Kevin White is the first WR taken in the 2015 Draft.

i guess you guys suffer from poor reading comprehension....

"the jaguars might know something we dont with blackmon. if caldwell is confident he will come back and could contribute then i dont see any scenario where a WR is taken in rd 1."

Am I the only one that has seen the recent pictures of Blackmon? We should be happy if he can keep his off the field issues at bay, that's whats more important.

Having him back would be an absolute luxury and the odds of him being the pre-suspension Blackmon are pretty slim.

WR is definitely an option.

I think you're the one with the comprehension issues here.

I said even if they do think he can contribute, he may just contribute as a back-up player.  He may or may not be a starter.  he may or may not get suspended again.  FACT IS, he hasn't been re-instated yet.

All that point to WR being a possibility in round 1 for us.

Not saying it's more likely than pass rusher, but I think it's a possibility.
