I like this signing, but part of me is always nervous about the "Manning effect" and how his services will transfer to a less talented roster.

What bothers me is all the L's..Nothing encourages winning like winning! Conversely, looser tend to keep doing the things that cause them to continually lose, like making excuses for losing, for instance. We know what our most glaring needs are; hopefully, we've addressed one (quarterback) and can now do something about our o-line, TE, LB's, S's, RB.

If Bortles improves though, there's no reason to expect Julius to not be a key cog to this offense. He's a heck of a talent. If Julius sucks here, I think it will likely be from Bortles not being how good we all think he will be. I expect him to improve, just saying I think if he busts it will be from outside problems. Would be very surprised if Bortles takes a step forward this year and Julius isn't at least a little bit of the reason for it. He's a freak.
This is a good start. Very good start. Need a few more now--mainly McCourty
Obviously nothing can be a done deal until Tuesday but this article makes it seem that it's about as close as done can be.

Many sources claiming Thomas is either talking with Jaguars or have agreed to terms already.
List of articles/sources. http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/20...er-broncos http://sportsglory.com/nfl/report-julius...uars/37088 http://denver.suntimes.com/denver-bronco...as-jaguars Just google Julius Thomas, there is more. Also reports that Randall Cobb has agreed to a new contract with the Packers. Oh well. So it looks like we won't be getting Suh (Dolphins), McCourty (Eagles or Giants), or Cobb (Packers).
Robinson and Blackmon on the outside. Lee in the slot with Julius running the seam.
I like. Quote:I like this signing, but part of me is always nervous about the "Manning effect" and how his services will transfer to a less talented roster. I am too. However as someone else pointed out it'll quickly let us know how far along Bortles is progressing. If Thomas disappears we'll know Bortles isnt doing his job. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff. Quote:I am too. Good point, we have more weapons now then any other QB in Jaguar history. I'm expecting leaps and bounds at QB, he was the 3rd overall pick time to show us why. This group we have is just as talented as a whole as we've ever had. Quote:More than when we had Fred Taylor, Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell? Don't forget being protected by Tony Boselli and Leon Searcy. Doesn't even compare.

I hate this whole process. I think he would be an upgrade, but we're talking about 1200 CAREER yards. 24 TDs is great, but Manning isn't going to be under center in the red zone for us this season. Again an upgrade, but I don't expect end of the world money.

As horribad as this team is, JT would be a very welcomed sight to this heap of trash offense..

You'd prefer we went after players who haven't been successful when surrounded by other good players? I just hope they keep adding more like him. We show less advertisements to registered users. Was I the only one who would mix up the Thomas'es? Demaryius is big for a wideout and Julius is athletic for a TE. Sometimes didn't know which Thomas it was until the announcers said so
