Dudes a backup D-lineman, which every team must have on their roster. Was he picked too high? Sure. That's certainly not his fault. He played pretty well last season and until we have 8 pro-bowl lineman to rotate in like everyone seems to think all other teans have, he'll probably stay here.

Well it seems like every year another team switches to the 3-4 defense. Chicago is doing it this year.

I like the 4-3, if you have good pass rushers and hole stuffers then it really helps the LB. We have good D line and even the subs can hold their own. The guys we have I would keep but bring in more to learn. If the O stays on the field the D will dominate by getting that much needed rest.

If it's a normal distribution (which it probably is) then something like 68% of DTs are close enough to average to be considered not good enough to be above average, but not bad enough to be considered below average. If you want to be stingier about what average means then it's more like 40%, but 68% is probably better. That means about 16% of players are good enough to be recognizably above average and 16% are bad enough to be recognizably below average. Alualu falls into that bottom 16%. Pretty sad for a top 10 pick. It's hard to believe Gene Smith got another job after the kinds of first round evaluations he made.
