Jaguars, Roy Miller close to an extension.

I would contend that we're getting elite level play from Marks.  We're getting good play from the rest of the guys rotating in and out at DT.  Suh would wind up being more of an overpriced distraction for this team.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Suh can play anywhere on the line

Suh > Marks

Marks is not as good against the run

But both can be utilized in a starting lineup.

Agreed about Marks. Miller, very good.

Suh and Marks paired can be easily the best DT tandem in the L.

In this era of football, it's all about the line play. Imagine this Line going into 2015 factoring in Randy Gregory or Leonard Williams...

Gregory or Williams/Branch/Davis

Suh/Miller

Marks/Hood

Bryant/Abry

that's downright frightenening

80 million dollars better?

Marks is on a 4 year/22 million dollar deal.

Suh is likely to become the highest paid defensive player in the NFL, more than Watt's 6 year/100 million dollar deal.

Exactly!

Suh may be the better player, but not to the extent that his contract would demand.  Considering the outstanding play we've seen from Marks this year, the contract we gave him is an absolute steal.

Not more than Watt. That's a stretch.

The team has much bigger needs than an overpriced DT.

Suh is definitely not overpriced, he is a game-changer.

it might come close to Watt.  if somebody pays him more than Watt then they are just stupid.

There are multiple reports out there saying that is the expectation.

I would just like our team to consider any elite talent that hits free agency.  it's probably unlikely Suh is available for offers at all anyway.

Got a link, broham?

That's hard for me to believe. Watt is on a whole other stratosphere than any defensive player, including Suh.

You really need to look at the production we're getting from Marks vs. that game changer.  Marks has actually been more of an impact player and a game changer for the Jaguars this year.  He tops Suh in sacks and passes defensed despite being constantly double-teamed.  If he's not making the play, he's affecting it.  And he's doing it for peanuts compared with what Suh would cost this team. Money that would be far better spent elsewhere.

if the GM wanted to, we should have enough money to spend on him AND elsewhere.  especially if we cut Marcedes, restructure Poz, and I don't see Clemons coming back

Yep. Cutting bait with guys like Shorts, Marcedes, and I'd even get rid of Poz will ensure that we could spend at a pretty decent clip.
