2 Tennessee football players investigated for rape

Overreacting now equals a few posts and presenting a case.

I think you meant I'm overstating. One means continuing the discussion is an inappropriate response to . . . the discussion?

The other means that I'm exaggerating the consequences and/or importance of the issue for the parties involved.

overreacting in the sense that you FSU homers are SUPER CONCERNED at the precedent being set.  You just forget that this isn't the court of law and its a football team.  The organization needs to handle this stuff carefully or pay the price.  FSU is under Title 9 investigation for a reason, and its not because ESPN hates them.

Got it, if we disagree with you and take the same amount of time you do to discuss it, it's an overreaction. I thought that couldn't possibly be what you meant, but apparently it was. My bad.

Congratulations on constructing two strong sounding truisms at the end of your post that have nothing to do with any of my points at all. (Except to reinforce the suspensions are about protecting the program.)

No, obviously you didn't get it.  Your overreaction has nothing to do with how much time you spend on a tldr.

Then how are you measuring my level of concern?

The well thought out logic behind my arguments?

The strength of my convictions apparent through my posts?

I'd say my use of all-caps, but you're the only one doing that . . .

It's the avatar isn't it. I promise The Big Giant Head over there is amused, not concerned.

Nope far from it. But it does leave a blemish on your character record if you are found innocent.

Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

And it wouldn't if you weren't suspended?
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

FSU waited for the facts to come out before acting. Not jumping the gun and throwing a player under the bus.

It's funny...if Jameis played at UF instead of FSU, your stance would be the exact opposite.

There is certainly an argument to be made on both sides. Also, as someone else pointed out, suspending the players is only a PR move for the school and protects only the best interest of the school. To pretend this makes them morally good is laughable. I think it becomes a slippery slope punishing someone that hasn't even been charged or arrested. I just have a hard time agreeing with that.

Nice try buddy. I said the exact same thing when Treon Harris was being investigated. He shouldn't have been suspended.

And you don't think the Winston situation influenced that. At all? Come on man.

I know it did. He's saying that if it was a UF player I wouldn't be saying he shouldn't be suspended.

And I think there's some truth to that. Had there been no prior situation to FSU I am confident in saying your stance would be different.

Again, nice try. But you'd be wrong as well.

I actually think Bigjohn would not be for a school suspending a guy before he was charged or arrested. I don't think it has anything to do with Jameis.

Your agenda for Treon fit what you were saying for Jameis...could you really back off your word for Jameis and change it for someone else?  Come on...its pretty easy.

Sorry, I had no agenda.

I love how you and Trav seem to think I can't separate football and reality. You guys should continue to act like you know me though. It's pretty funny.

It may be coincidental, but really it is 50/50 right?  There is 50% chance he felt one way or 50% chance he felt the other.  Intelligence is recognizing that fact.  Neither of us know how he would have felt unless we asked him prior to the Jameis Winston incident which we can't do.  There is a great argument to be made that someone shouldn't be punished when they have neither been charged or arrested of said crime.  The other argument is only made to protect the school and has nothing to do with integrity.
