Ask a Bengals fan...

Quote:Will you be rooting for the Steelers or Ravens on Sunday Night or do you just want both QBs to break their legs?  Both teams are 5-3 and a half game behind the Bengals.

Given the fact that you beat the Ravens 2x, I'd almost think you are rooting for the Ravens.
Honestly, I will root for the Steelers as Ravens are probably our biggest opponent, but either one losing can't hurt. Tongue

Quote:What is your fondest memory as a Bengals fan?   The reason I ask is because I grew up in Pittsburgh and remember the Bengals of the 70s always giving the Steelers troubles.  I liked Isaac Curtis even though I hated the Browns, Oilers, and Bengals in that order.

2 Super Bowls appearances tends to get lost in the down years of the 90s with Corey Dillion.

I loved the Ice Bowl vs the Chargers.  That's probably my favorite Bengals game.
Probably us drafting A.J Green. Tongue

The best chance the Bengals had to win the SB was SBXXIII.

Joe had to drive the niners 92 yards with 3 min left on the clock and get a FG to tie or a TD for the win.

The Bengals got to 2 SBs and were so close to winning that one, but Joe just wouldn't be denied.

Wasn't that the John Candy Super bowl?

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Yep -- that was the one that Joe Montana pointed out John Candy (sitting in the end zone seats) during a timeout in the huddle.   Classic !!

Two horseback riders decide to have a race. But the prize goes to the slowest horse, not the fastest. So they start down the trail at a slower and slower pace as each rider tries to "win" this odd race. Finally, they both stop, dismount and have a short talk. Then it's back on the horses. This time, each rider urges his horse to run as fast as it can. What happened to change the race?

How can there be no culture where there are football and baseball teams?

Enough about horses. We are getting ready for a CAT FIGHT Sunday.

There is a saying about "fighting tooth and nail." That obviously comes from male animals who use their teeth and claws to fight for territorial rights such as bengals and jaguars.

LOL Now we get into trash talking. I did not see any of that on the Bengals board.

No it doesn't. It clearly comes from when the ancient egyptians fought off bears with hammers and nails. The bears would try to bite them (the "tooth") and the egyptians would stab them in the nose with their nails (the "nail"). Those were the same nails they were using to build the pyramids. Bears back then were well-known for attacking groups of egyptians while they built the pyramids and the egyptians had to use the only tools available (the nails) to fight back.

I feel like you should brush up on your ancient history.

Does Dalton play differently at home vs away?

Along the same lines, which unit plays better at home vs away?

Even if that is true, so is the fact that big cats fight with their teeth and claws (nails), so my statement is scientifically accurate. Those territorial fights preceded Egyptians, hammers, and pyramids.

What the Bengals did last week also makes sense scientifically because they killed the Ravens and birds are prey to cats.

I think you have to consider where the Bengals played. They got blown out by the Colts and Patriots. I think they would have lost those two games at home too.

As I believe you previously pointed out, bengal tigers and jaguars did (and do) not co-exist on the same continent, so any territorial disputes between the two species would most definitely have not occurred and makes no sense scientifically. The same applies to the Ravens analogy as bengal tigers are not known for eating ravens; the raven would just fly away. In fact, bengals usually eat moose, deer, pigs, cows, horses, buffalos, goats, elephant calves, bears, leopards, tapirs, and the occasional wild dog. But nowhere in that list is a jaguar.
