There is no such thing. The word concussion is only used for the central nervous system.

 

I have heard of bruised tissues, pinched nerves, strains, sprains, fractures, and tears. How is a contusion different from all of those injuries?

A concussion is a bruise caused by the brain hitting the inside of the skull on the opposite side of the impact. That can't happen in the arm. However, arm tissues can be bruised at the site of impact.

I know usually they're type 1 injuries but you're saying it is a different type!?

It takes the coaches about 3 weeks to see what we see on day 1.

Storm was average at best in the pre-season. He looked heavy and slow, so about the same as Gerhart. I believe he has shed the extra weight he was carrying and its starting to show up in practice. Thus, he gets game reps to show that he is indeed improving.


It's a pretty simple concept if you think about it.
