Sad news: Rob Bironas, 36, passes away
|
Thankfully, no one else was killed or injured during the final part of Rob Birones' life.
After giving the tragic situation thought, including what was expressed in this thread, I think there's a pretty good chance that Rob Birones' behavior the night he was killed was a combination of two factors: 1. The use of a drug such as Ambien. 2. The likely realization that his NFL career was over. Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, Birones had a tryout/ workout with the Lions Tuesday of last week. Based on the fact that Lions HC Jim Caldwell mentioned on Monday that former Eagles K Alex Henery had the best workout of the 3 kickers that day ( the Lions signed Alex Henery two days ago ) , Birones could easily have seen the writing on the wall during the workout. This was his first NFL opportunity since the one workout/ tryout he had in the off-season with an NFL team. He wasn't on an NFL roster this summer. The playing ability end for an NFL player sometimes comes quickly. Under these circumstances, many players have difficulty coping with the reality. I hope that Rob Birones is remembered for all of the positives in his life compared to the last night of his life. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

His BAC was .218 according to the toxicology report and had a small amount of Valium in his system. Quote:http://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/n.../16664189/ Unfortunate, but the good news is that he didn't kill anyone else. I'm curious to know what actually happened in the hours before his death because there are some significant differences in his wife's story and the actual situation. Quote:http://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/nfl/2014/10/03/rob-bironas-tennessee-titans-toxicology-report/16664189/ .218 Jesus.... And that test is probably a little lower than what it actually was. Almost 3x the limit. I'm also curious what happened that night.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Quote:This story has gotten a bit bizarre, but when the dust settles, I'm betting he was taking something like Ambien. I've read some crazy things about adverse reactions to that particular drug.I took Ambien once and hallucinated so bad I threw my prescription away. It's some bad stuff for those is affects in that way. Sadly for him it looks like it was other factors. Still, dead is dead and I feel for his family. |
