Michigan

Charlie weis got poopcanned. He needs to stop being given head coaching jobs and stick to what he's really good at.... Offensive coordinator.
He bailed on that job with the gators for the gig at Kansas. I probably wouldn't cry every time I watched the gators offense take the field if he was the OC.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Quote:That is who a bunch of Michigan fans think they will get. Just like last year Texas fans wanted guys like Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher and ended up with Charlie Strong. Just like? How is it "just like"? The two situations are completely different. Harbough is a Michigan alumnus with strong Michigan ties and the 49ers refuse to extend is contract. I'm not saying it will happen, but saying the situation is "just like Texas" last year is ignorant.

I am sure there is a coach in the MAC that will be a good fit.

They don't want Jim because of his tendency lately to not be able to stick around, they see John as a long-term guy and that's what they want. Quote:Why would Harbaugh leave for Michigan? Because the 49ers are slowly building to a dumpster fire with Harbaugh there. We've heard rumblings of him having issues with the team and NFLN mentioned even more this morning though I can't remember exactly what they were. Something about the players having a grief with him I thought. Plus $$$$. If he signs with Michigan it'd be a good sized deal and money talks. On top of his history in the area etc it's not a crazy idea to think he could sign with Michigan. He's heading towards being on the way out in San Fran as it is so he's going to need something.
Quote:Yeah, saw that too. They don't want Jim because of his tendency lately to not be able to stick around, they see John as a long-term guy and that's what they want. But I can't see why he would leave Baltimore. He's under contract until 2017. The only coaches I remember leaving an NFL team to go to college were Saban and Petrino, who were both college coaches before moving to the NFL. Quote:But I can't see why he would leave Baltimore. I agree I don't see him leaving Baltimore. I can't hardly imagine a situation this year that would lead him there outside of Baltimore imploding and losing a ton of games which I don't see happening. John has a good situation going in Baltimore that I don't see him leaving for a job like Michigan. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Something about the players having a grief with him I thought. Exactly. Then consider his Michigan ties (played for Michigan) and to call it unrealistic is just being an idiot. I'm not saying it will happen, because it's unlikely that Michigan lands him, but it's hard to see the situation being mutually beneficial.
Quote:Why would Harbaugh leave for Michigan? Michigan can suck for 7 years and still be relevant, but I know that pains you to admit. And, again, I'm much more of a Michigan basketball fan and John Beilein has Michigan as a top 10 program right now. As the football program falls, the basketball program rises. I'm fine with that. Hopefully, though, the right AD / coach can come in and get Michigan back to semi-respectable.
Quote:Michigan can suck for 7 years and still be relevant, but I know that pains you to admit. They're not relevant now. So what is it supposed to pain me to admit again?

Relevant as in a complete joke, sure.

Quote:What do you consider relevant? Relevant as in: -Consistently in the top 5 football programs in revenue, despite sucking lately. -Extremely large alumni and fan base. -Historic program. Those things don't just go *poof* after a handful of bad seasons. Hopefully Michigan can bring in the right AD and Head Coach to fix the hole that Dave Brandon and Rich Rod/Hoke have done.
Quote:Relevant as in a complete joke, sure. Relevant as in elite revenue stream, large fan base, storied history. Michigan's football program produces a lot of money, because it is relevant, and that money can be used to pay their head football coach. Quote:Relevant as in: What? Michigan is hardly a top 5 program right now. They're borderline top 10 honestly. |
