Noles 2014 outlook

Quote:Yeah they held the first string to 30 points in a half of football and we held them scoreless. Call me terrified.

Look, I'm not an FSU hater, I just dont see a problem with cut blocking and I watched a piece of the second half.  If you are relying on back ups,  they didnt look good against The Citadel.

We arent relying on backups man how have you not gotten this already. We are trying to get the game time against another teams 1st so they can develop. Thats pretty much the whole point of the scrub games plus alittle money tossed to the scrub team to help with their athletic dept. Now back on to the whole LEGALITY issue football wise YES theY are legal blocks but publically admitting to injure a person is a CRIMINAL OFFENSE.

Is it an extreme way of thinking about it? YES. Could it be proved? The guy admitted to it on social media that he and his teamates gameplanned to injure other players. I mean im sure i could do some research on sports injuries and legal and illegal contact. Possibly even look up similar situations but the problem imight run into is noone admitting on socail media that this was their intention. Will it go this far? Probally not but something should be done about this an not just an im sorry letter or speach.

FSU has had a player in the past intentionally try to injure a player as well.  As far as that goes, they dont have much of a leg to stand on.

If I were a hardcore FSU fan I would be mad too, but its probably best to just move on.  With the bad pr they've had this season, they don't need more of it.

Quote:I was going to mention in my last post what was hit on here. Players are always going to block, tackle, etc with nasty intent. That's how it should be.

JT, Bigjohn, can you honestly say that no FSU player has set out to block or tackle with intent to injure or hurt? Hill will pay a consequence, and rightfully so for his comments.

I'll add this regarding suspensions. If Winston were a Citadel football player he would no longer be on the team following his crab leg ordeal.

I don't know.  We can speculate on that, but there is no speculating with Citadel.

Quote:Ok, you dont care about 70-0, then you need to worry about how bad that offense looked.  The Citadel's defense held your team to 37 points.  I don't care if its 1st, 2nd, or 3rd string.......The Citadel should never be able to do that.

Who defended them trying to hurt them?  We just said that cut blocking is legal.  There are a lot of other things in football that cause more injuries than cut blocking.  If you are a defensive lineman you should also be able to keep them off your legs.  If they got in that close, you lost.

We had 8 possessions.  As Jimbo said in his presser, sometimes that happens against triple options because they eat up so much clock.  We had 4 possession in the 1st half and scored 4 TD's.

We know cut blocking is legal.  The comment stemmed from trav being proud of his team and the comment made by the olineman that they were trying to hurt our d-line.

But yes, the Noles do not look as good as last years championship team.  We miss Kelvin Benjamin and Jeremy Pruitt a ton.  Pruitt may have been the biggest loss which is crazy considering he is a Defensive Coordinator.

There is a huge problem when the player bragged about hurting the dline.  That means they were cut blocking with intent to hurt our dlinemen.  And 3 went out.  We have played triple options teams before and never remember 3 dlinemen getting hurt.

This isn't bad PR for us.  It's bad PR for citadel.

It's bad PR for the Noles if they decide to sue, imo.  They had Darnell Dockett illegally try to hurt someone in a game (I know it was a while ago, but he still did it) and knocked the guy out for a while.  To turn around and sue someone for a similar thing seems self rightout to me.

Do I think that guy may have been able to hurt intentionally, yes....do I think as a whole the group was doing it, not so sure.  If you work every day at cutting guys, you are going to become pretty good at it.  They were just doing their job.  Jimbo was right, and I'm guessing you wont see an option team on their schedule for a while.  Same as many other major colleges.  I'm hoping with the way college football is going these types of games will happen less and less.

One can be assured he will miss more games then did Jameis Winston, the thief.

I simply stated I was proud of the team. Nothing more. Heck I started off by commenting to bigjohn that 2-0 is still nothing to shake a stick at. It wasn't a negative spin on anything. That was started by his next comment, and piggybacked on by you.

No one has argued that.

Also one d-lineman was hurt because of a pile, not being cut.

Piggy backing off Trav's comment, he did comment that he was proud of how they played before the post about the intent to hurt was posted.  Despite that, we all expected a much bigger deficit than actually happened.  For a game like this, thats all those teams can hope for.

The Citadel's past speaks for itself, this is a huge outlier. Same can't be said for FSU
