Quote:This is true. Even bringing a guy or two in for depth would be nice. We lack it severely.

Here's a scouting report on him:

Quote:Positive: Three-year starter at left guard with experience at the center position. Quick, versatile blocker with limited upside. Fires off the snap, stays square, and keeps his feet and hands active throughout the action. Explosive at the point, shows ability pulling across the line of scrimmage, and blocks with good lean.

Negative: Stiff, struggles to adjust and ineffective blocking in motion. Overextends into blocks and does too much clutching of defenders.

Analysis: Andrews was solid on the college level but lacks the size and athleticism for the next level. The ability to handle any of three interior blocking positions could help him find a spot as an inexpensive backup.

"ineffective blocking in motion"

Isn't that kind of important in a ZBS? Genuine question here, as I'm not entirely sure.

Sounds like it....

If he's ineffective in motion he'll prob not be a good fit here....ugh

Starting to hate the ZBS...seems like too much of a hassle to find players that can actually execute it well.

That's what I'm thinking. If it's true that he "lunges" and "grabs" a lot it probably means that he isn't good at moving to engage a target.

While I have no personal experience from watching him play to back this up, it doesn't seem like he'd be a good fit here.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Seriously?

He was an UDFA...the Jaguars also don't run a full ZBS, from what I remember.  It's not overly hard to find lineman that work and if we stick with it I'm confident Dave will find a few more.  He can't fix everything in two off seasons.  Honestly I thought Brewster would do better than he has back back at C, I was wrong.

Tell that to, well, the Jaguars.

Larry English goes from first round pick from the Chargers just 5 years ago to not being able to make the Bucs 53 man roster.  Lonnie Pryor was also cut from there.  I didn't realize he was with Tampa.

I'm not sure we're a good fit for a ZBS. There were little to no lineman here that fit it well, which is part of why I don't care for it.

It's no easy task to completely redo an OL when changing schemes.

They signed him off the Jags' PS late last year. I think his ship might have sailed here, as we're a little too packed at RB to bring in a second FB.

What happened to G Jamon Meredith?  I thought he was a starter there.  It must've been a bad offseason for him to go from starter to cut.

**EDIT*  Oops, originally had the wrong guard.

Quote:Absolutely.  I think he should start opposite of Lee at this point.  I have more faith in him than Shorts at this point in time.  Need to see what Robinson is all about if he'd ever get healthy.
Robinson will be fine.  He's not known for his injury history.  It was good to see him at least dressed out yesterday.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis was cut by the Bengals. Could be a fit.

*laughs as he ducks the flames*
