In the first video, the video description says the dog belongs to the neighbor of the victim's family and the dog was let out of the backyard enclosure.

Gotta wonder if it was just a wild, feral dog. It looked to be old enough that it would have certainly been known by an owner that it was unstable. I have never seen a domestic cat with such protective instincts. Changes my opinion of cats somewhat.

 

 

In my area, basically every dog is loose and feral dogs are pretty common. The feral dogs are almost without fail extremely skittish of people and usually run away on sight - much like coyotes. The yard dogs are absolutely the meaner of the two in my experience.
